New 6095

What type of corals do you intend to keep? I think a pair of 6095's would be ideal for mixed reef or LPS and softies but more flow may be needed for SPS dominant tank.

I have softies and lps in the middle and lower sections, and some sps at the top of the tank. I am currently using 2 Koralias (1050 and 750) aimed from the back wall (alternating on a wavemaker), and a Tunze 6045 along the top. While I like the flow, I don't like the way the Koralias look and I would like to be able to vary the flow.

I made a mistake in my tank dimensions - 48L x 15D x28H.

Thanks!

You really wouldn't need the 6045 but you could use it to target a high flow coral or dead spot.

Yes, closer to the pumps is the idea. The 6095 flow is very wide and fairly gentle.

Hi Roger. Can you confirm what glass thickness the 6095's are suited to. I'm sure it was upto 19mm thickness, but looking again on the website it says 15mm. My glass with the acrylic panel works out at 18-19mm so not sure how strong the hold would be if its meant for 15mm....

The first ones now on the market are 19mm, but this will change to 15mm in the next shipment and the 19mm magnet will be an accessory. Unfortunately, the cost of magnets has gone up 600% since January and the only way to keep prices from increasing was to weaken the magnet holders and if you need a stronger magnet, it is a separate part.

So if I buy one now how will I know if it is the 19mm version. It is being advertised as 15mm glass thickness but does this mean there is a probable chance that it is the 19mm stronger magnet, if its still the first batch of pumps that are being sold..?? Is there anything I can ask the shop onwer to check to see which version of magnet it is?

P.s. I'm in the UK.

I'm assuming everything out there right now has the 19mm's then? There hasn't been a mix of 19's and 15's? Do you know when the next shipment is coming in?

In the US, they should be 19mm but only what is in stock right this minute. The next batch will be with 15mm.

Unfortunately, the only way to know is to try them, nothing looks different and the packaging was already printed for 15mm as this magnet price issue has been a year long problem, we only were able to continue due to having magnets on hand and now that we have to reorder, the 19mm magnet cannot be made for the current retail price, it is a huge increase in cost of the raw materials.

So does this mean the stock that is available to the UK or already in the UK is from the first batch of orders, which potentially means it is the 19mm magnet. And if not, when will the 19mm magnets be available to buy seperately? Or are these already available? Which one would be suited for the 6095? (Never had tunze before, so this would be my first..hopefully)

You are closer to Germany so things move a little faster, so I am not sure, we are far enough away that we get a bigger quantity and try to keep some stock as it generally takes 2 weeks at least to get resupplied.

6025.500 is the magnet holder for 19mm, the new 15mm has part 6025.515.

OK, thanks Roger. Might it be an idea for me to email Tunze Germany to find out whether they have shipped any of the 15mm versions to the UK, or can you find out this information for me?

i've installed two 6095 pumps on my 36x24x24 (90gallon) aquarium and so far they are great. the flow is strong, but spread out quite a bit more than the 6055 which i'm also running. the 6095 can effectively reach all the way across the three foot tank, but it's not a focused stream, which is very nice.

i plan on shooting a comparative video between the 6095 flow pattern and the 6055. i've done a little shooting already, but it's not as good as i had hoped.
