New Anemone from ThatFishPlace

So, I live about 5 minutes from that fish place. I always wanted a carpet anemone and I went there last night just to look after work. Well i found this gem. I put it in my tank. As far as anemone husbandry, im fine but how in blue blazes do i get this guy to attach to the bottom. He decided to grab the side of the glass on my power head side. I dont want blended anemone. That would destroy me. The specimen itself is rather healthy. When they pulled it out of the tank at the store, I was kinda startled when the mouth turned inside-out almost. I got it home, drip acclimated for an hour and a half. As I dripped it, it began to pull its mouth back together and I began to saw the tentacles "shutter". I had never seen this before but I was just amazed.

So, any ideas on how to get it to grab the bottom b/c right now, I am looking at the bottome of his foot. Hes mooning me lol.

I am worried he will climb towards the powerheads... is this just misguided concern or am i right to be concerned?

You are right to be concerned. It sounds like you have a Gigantea. They may move all over the place before finding a comfy spot. They are not restricted to the bottom like Haddoni's are. The whole tank is fair game for him. If I were you, I would move the power head as far away from him as I could get it.

No i made sure not to buy one of them. Its a haddoni, that dull greenish/brownish (im color blind) but i know a haddoni when i see it. It "saddles" up like a haddoni. Giganteas dont saddle to my knowledge and have longer tents.

my gigantea "saddles up" quite frequently, maybe posting a pic when you get home would be best.

This is what it looks like.

Its a haddoni, I dont think there are any gigantea currently at the store. When I first got mine I dug out a hole in front of my rock work, and gently placed its foot in it. It attached within a day. I would move the powerhead or turn it off for now until it gets settled in.

I still think you should have gotten that 2 foot blue one last month

That looks like a haddoni, how long has your tank been setup? When you acclimated him, where the lights on? How long has he been in there (12 hrs, 24 hrs, 30 hrs, etc.)? How big is he? When you placed him in the tank was he still sticky, is he still sticky? Does he respond to you or his environment?
