Got 3 anemones from Petco for a total of $59
One is a carpet, one a small Haitian and the other is a long tentacle about 5-6" wide when open, it was open until the female clown decised it was hers and the anemone closed up for the last 4 plus hours and she still trying to get in..will she hurt the anemone trying to get it to open up? image.jpg

Sure she can hurt it or even kill it. Personally I'd keep her away from the nems until they settle in a bit but that is only my opinion. If you have no choice and have to keep them all together then let nature take it's course.

Great buy on those nems but remember carpet nems are fish eaters. Also in most cases any nem you get from Petco is normally bleached and should IMO allowed time to get it's health back before joining them with a clownfish.

Carpets also may be sick and require treatment. It's best to quarantine them for some weeks before placing them into the DT.

Though I feel that appropriately sized clownfish may help an anemone's recovery if it isn't sick.

This morning and it is open up just a bit, the carpet was moving around quite a bit and this morning the same clowni was trying to lay around it but it would not open all the way up. I don't have a choice but put them in the same tank and I guess I'll let nature take its course..all the peremeters are where they are supposed to be and hope for the best, considering what I paid I guess it woulnd be much off a loss first time around even thought I would hate to see them die off because of the clowni..funny but all the other fish seem to keep their distance from the carpet
