New Blue Carpet Gigantea

I picked this up from another RC member who lives nearby but is moving out of state. It seems to be in pretty good shape and handled the 1.5 hour move and acclimation to my tank. I have a 180G with 75 sump and have had most of the contents of it up and running for about 3 years of which 2 of those I've kept some long tentacle or bubble tips (that's for another thread). I've been wanting to get a much "nicer" quality anemone and have always liked the blue carpets. I got a great deal, I believe, on this one along with a pair of black oscellaris that had been hosting it.

First of all, does it appear healthy following the move? From everything I've read, it would appear so?

Second, I have 10 x 48" T5s over my tank right now and I have LEDs coming in over the next week. What are the general lighting requirements? Before I bought the anemone, he had been under AI Sols for the past year and a half. I did move it to the end of the tank where it's a little out of direct lighting as it apparently ate my yellow-tail damsel the first night I added it (kinda sad as that damsel was my first saltwater fish who'd been through all the changes of my tank over the years). I'm currently feeding it mysis and krill and probably will every day to every other day but I read not to feed it silversides.

I'm interested in learning as much as I can about this anemone so that I'm able to keep it healthy for the long haul.

Great pick up. It does look to be healthy and looks like it loves the flow and light you have on it... I'm not a big fan of LED for nem but it should be fine with adjustments and acclimation of new light. Good luck keep us posted

Looks good to me... I have my Gig under Radions and he's happy as a clam.... Good luck and post some more pictures when you get a chance!

Looks great, especially since it was only recently introduced. Seems like there are a lot of healthy Gigs in IL right now. :)
