New Bubble Tip Anenome

I have a 58 gallon reef tank that has 250 watt Metal Halides as well as 2-20 watt URI Super Actinic Supplements over the tank. It has been set up for about three months now and all the perimeters for Phosphates,Nitrate, and Ammonia and Nitrites are 0. The PH is 8.3.

I bought a Bubble Tip Anenome yesterday and he was looking fine after I acclimated him to the tank.

Today I came into my office where the tank is and he has moved and shrunk down and you can see his mouth is open and his inner mouth is sticking out and it almost looks like white spaghetti coming out of him.

Any suggestions or solutions as to why this has happened?

Should I get him out of there or wait until tomorrow to see if he comes back around?

Obviously I don't want him to foul the tank since I have several Soft Corals in there.

Someone please help answer the questions for me. I don't want the anenome to die in my tank. I see 15 people have read it but no responses.

a picture would be helpful and information on how you acculimated him.. If your tank has been set up for three months. then you are jumping to fast for the anemone. it's better if you wait til 6months to a year before addding a anemone to a tank.

If it wasn't for the spaghetti like strands, I would say, hang in there its just getting used to your tank.

The spaghetti stands are a very bad sign. It will not likely recover. I can't tell you why it happened, but the fast easy answer is to get it out of your tank before you have a mess.

phender is right, get it out of your tank before it fouls up your tank. IMO take it back to the fish store you got it from and get a refund before your anemone is dead and you can't get your money back.

Sounds good to me. I will take it back to the LFS I bought it from and see if I can get store credit.

Thanks for the advise.

Apparently my Bubble Tip Anenome was expelling the waste and water like they typically do on a daily basis. He now is fully out and all his insides have went back inside and he is even fuller and larger than he was yesterday when I bought him.

I guess the web site that sfarid123 gave me helped me understand what was going on with the anenome.

Thanks everyone for the help.
