new "canvas"

hey gary, where did you buy your penductors from?
also, I can't seem to find the page "(There's a page earlier in this thread that briefly discusses sizing.)"

Gary,

I see you still have the Klein's butterfly. Have you decided to keep it or are you having trouble catching it? Also, have you lost most of your anthias? Thanks.

I never tried catching it because I'm trying to make it work and (so far) succeeding at it. My gigantea anemone is slowly gaining mass.

Anthias are long gone from this aquarium. Bartlett's are short lived in comparison to several other Anthias species I've previously kept (mosty notably cooperi and squamipinnis).

regular (relatively) heavy feedings of pulverized krill seem to feed the anemone while simultaneously satisfy the Klein's desire for something meaty.

Worth mentioning now:
I discovered an extremely small Pocillipora growing on my Tunze Stream recently. It must have settled by planulae larva or some other means as I didn't glue it there. A careful scrutiny of my aquarium revealed several other colonies started. I've never had this happen before so it's kind of a big deal to me. I'll grab a pic as soon as I warm up- it's extremely cold outside here!

Very cool! Pocillopora can apparently reproduce in a process called "polyp bailout". I've heard of a couple tanks that have had this happen. Alas, not mine, not yet anyhow.

Wow Gary, your tank has recovered beautifully in the past six to nine months!

It is really looking great Gary!!

I've forgotten. What did you say was the trick with the butterfly and the carpet? I thought you had actually removed the butterfly to save the carpet, but obviously that's not so. Did the butterfly just start behaving on his own?
