new "canvas"

left alone the Butterfly won't behave- you need to actually feed it something.
(gotta feed the anemone, too :fun4: )

thanks for the feedback, guys.

Rich- note yongei growth. There's a Poci below it (not seen in pic) that needs immediate pruning/removal

" Talking Little congrats to my friend
Just want to say Congrats to my friend Mark, his wife and a welcome to the world to Mia.

Talked to Mark earlier, and he and the family are all doing well. I am sure he will be a picture posting maniac soon enough.

Congratulations my old friend..

Nice photo gary! Your tank has really filled in nicely. The Turbinaria adds a nice splash of color there in the middle. I like what you have done with the place :)

G-man that's friggin mint! I gotta believe the gyre flow is responsible for those acros plating out. It's amazing the comeback that tank has made!!!

(thanks for the b-day plug)

Man o man, that black background truly makes all the difference. The tank is looking stunning again! Huge

Hi Gary,

Sorry if I'm asking a question that's already answered. Do you have the gyre alternating directions on some periodic basis, or is it on all the time and in the same direction ... or is it "on" and then "slack" (ie., just on and off)?

Thanks!

the massive main gyre is generated by my penductor capped water returns and travels the same direction at all times. I also have powerheads aimed opposite the penductors which turn on/off intermittently- but they are no match for the penductor's flow. Instead of creating a flow in the opposite direction they merely end up creating a bunch of turbulence.
