new icecap gyre 4K stuck

hi guys I just bought an icecap gyre 4K and today for the 5th time I camo home to see the "pump locked stuck on closed loop"
the pump wasn't even moving ..
so my tank had NO water movement the whole day
any experience??

Talk to CoralVue, get it replaced...simple.

I can't speak to their gyre, but I know that if anything obstructs the impellers on my Maxspect Gyre 250's they will hang up. Although it's a bit of a pia the first time or two, taking them apart and meticulously cleaning and reassembly does the trick for me.

I have received this message on my Hydros Wave engine when I lowered the power on my return pumps and they froze up. There's a set minimum when you configure the pumps, just like the Platform on the 2k/4k controller, so in theory, they would still run at 1%. In the case of my 2k, it does, but the on RODC pumps on the big tank, they don't and I get the message.
So, review the pump settings. Perhaps raising the min power would keep it from locking up.
My only issue with my 2k is that it often looses it's Wifi connection. Sometimes it gets it back, other times it requires a re-boot. Could be a location issue though.

No, on it's own controller in my smaller tank. The Wave Engine is on my mixed reef 115 gal with two return pumps and 2 XL250 Gyres.
The software for the 2/4k is "stripped down" version of the Hydros platform, and I thought perhaps changing the min/max power in the pump settings menu could help.
Or not...

Yes I thought that could be the lower settings.. And Yes the own controller is stripped down version of the engine
