New Install

This is my latest project.A custom built in wall 60 gallon glass tank drilled with a custom overflow and this sump pictured above.The sump is designed to accommodate a ETSS downdraft Protein skimmer with high flow bubble traps built in.The large section on the left will house a refuge with chaeteomorph algae .Two Blue Line pumps will be used to move water back to the tank and the other will power the skimmer.A couple tunze 6105,s will be added and controlled by a Tunze 7095 controller.Lighting will consist of one of the LED fixtures I have been playing with for the last several months if I have my way,lol.But it may end up being Radium powered with VHO actinics

One hour after new install.A Little clowdy but biologically sound and comfy for the prec pair.Tomorrow I will shoot a few when its clear.Next step,stock with some banging color.stay tuned

Thanks.They were the survivors from the sewer hmm I mean tank that resided there before I intervened.lol

I used to live in the Scranton area and still have several family members and friends up there. Several of them keep reef tanks.

Here are some shots from today.One day and it is ready for corals already.I put a tester coral in there last nite and its as happy as can be today.All params are in the sweet zone

And here is what a real skimmer looks like after 24 hours with no playin.Just set and watch and smell lol

Dan do you have any new pics of this setup since you added color? It would be nice to also see pictures of how the skimmer is performing on such a new system as well.

Dan, what's the # of blue/white LED's in that fixture? It looks like maybe 30 white and 25 blue. Are they 3w? What would you say the aprox K color is? 10K, 15K or 20K.

I beleive they come in 120W and 300W fixtures. 30/25 is correct ..thier close to 20K when all are on if compared to MH, but its a different look completly to me.

I run three of them over my 300 gallon.

Thanks,Its coming along nicely now and corals are really coloring.Now trying to teach the owner to maintain the big 3 in between visits .Maybe I will add a few acroporas in a week or two.
