See a lfs is opening soon. Called Coral Reef Imports. I've talked to the guy because he is only person in az thar has lrs reef frenzy food. It's in Mesa on alma school south of Guadalupe in the step mall with aloha kitchen (great Hawaiian food). Anyways anyone else know about this

I don't know how you would quantify it without finding registration records from one (or more) of the reefing clubs. I know from talking to a few of the shops in Tempe and Scottsdale is that the folks that spend the money on Corals and higher dollar salt fish tend to be more towards the east, but I sure have run into several local reefers in my neck of the woods.

For the record, I live in the I-17 / 101 type area...

Right now the only stores close to west side is tropical and customer creatures. I have also seen a few people on facebook research locations as they said they wanted to open a west side store but I havent seen much since then. Unfortunately we had some ....people...on facebook complaining that west side stores would never survive, which I think is completely untrue, a Glendale/Arrowhead store would probably thrive.

Yeah very true. I saw some know-it-all post about all the fish stores on the Westside that have closed in the past. Times have changed, however!

Having lived in the west valley for 34 years the idea of a west valley store thriving is always an interesting topic. Tropical Treasures, Custom Creatures and Ocean Floor are the only ones left out of the 20 or so when I was a kid. That kinda says something for the viability of west side stores. Yes the economy took a hit and that can be blamed for some of it but most closed long before that even happened. I Wish the west valley even had half the presence of reef stores that the east valley does. But the sad but true fact is we don't. I don't know if it's because people out on this side just aren't interested or if it's that the ones that are interested are so spread out to make it difficult to get enough business at most locations. And Arrowhead are is horrible for rent so that is probably why you won't see one there.

Stores not being on the west side has to do a little with supply and demand, a little on the affordability of a building or rent, but most of all it depends on if there is anyone that lives over there that wants to open a new store.

Yes there are allegedly two stores opening up on the west side by December. "Allegedly"

I know many many ppl that live in the west side like myself. I would love one on 99th ave &, mcdowell.. Reason for the 101&i10 meet. It is the center for sun city, Peoria, Glendale, buckeye Goodyear, avondale west phx, laveen! Much better than hitting traffic after returning from the east side.
