How big were your water changes and how far into treatment did you start them?
I was doing 15% to 25% water changes and started 4 days after dosing.

Dmorty, I ended up getting some live rocks from another reefers tank and used that. Not having ammonia issues anymore.
My purple tang was eating like a pig but today stopped. I looked closely and noticed he was pooping white stringy poop. Can I treat the tank with metronidazole? Has anyone used CP with metro before?
I was reading through the CP primer thread and couldn't find the answer to this.
It's been 10 days and there are no visible signs of ich on the purple tang. He was heavily covered in ich at the beginning of treatment.
Forgive me If I missed it, but are people saying the powder form is OK to dose in the main tank?
Anyone used this on a regal angelfish?
Can you have LR in the tank or does it interfere with the medication similar to copper?

Rock won't interfere with the meds but sand will
Interesting, do you know why that is? Just wondering. I'm hoping to keep some rock in with the regal during treatment so he feels more secure and to also hopefully offer some biological filtration.
Tried to start TTM on this fish yesterday and he was immediately disoriented when I put him into the QT tank and within an hour he was laying on the bottom gasping... I freaked out and threw him into the refugium and he was fine within a few minutes (this is the system I removed him from so no risk of him infecting). I think the bare bones tank with only PVC to hide in completely freaked him out.

While I was very optimistic about this med, my recent experience has not been great. Near the end of June I recieved a tank full of fish that were in the process of being wiped out by velvet, I brought them home to a cycled Q tank and dosed per instructions from my newest bottle. After one week all fish still showed evidence of infection so I doubled the dose. After two weeks no improvement had been made. It did seem to reduce the amount of parasites available to make the fish sick as I only had one additonal loss during this period that did not appear to be related to the velvet but was unable to clear the infection. At the two week mark I removed the Ich Shield from the tank with Carbon over night and immeadiatly brought the tank up to full strength copper treatment the next morning as this strain of velvet had proven to be a quick killer before I brought the fish home. The copper cleared all signs of infection within one week.
Now for some ancedotal evidence, this bottle of Ich Shield never killed all the algae in the tank as my first bottle did, this combined with the lack of cure indicates to me that the CP in the bottle was of poor quality or nearly absent.
