I got one today. Has a nice green to it with purple tips and yellow polyps on the tips. Looks pretty darn good to me.....

So ORA's release pic shows it to be bright yellow and pink, but its really green? Very misleading

They use a combination of natural light and MH. This coral has been available for a couple months now. Just wondering what kind of colors people are getting in their tanks.

I love soli's, My last one i did bonsai like pruning, and it came out sweet. I plan on doing that again just to encourage multiple spiraling plates. Got a ORA last week, We will see how it colors up.

Could you go into detail about how you encourage your soli to spiral?

It requres you to cut it up once you get it to plate out about 3-4 inches in diameter. What i did was cut it with a dremmel to seperate the plate into multiple's, (It will grow into seperate plates.) Make sure not to break it apart Basically just trim half inch slits into it where you want.
They already want to do that, But helping it out will reap benefits.
You will get a slow down in growth but once it heals and grows out it will look pretty cool.
If you take a chunk out or do it accidentally you can glue it back in place or glue it to another part of the soli. To help spiral you can keep turning the coral away from the light by moving it. Just move it again in a few mos and continue till it is your desired pattern.
I kept mine on a angle to the light so it was off plane, Then I just turn it every few mos.

Yeah, I know. What happened was I fell asleep during its Interceptor bath, leaving it cooking for a total of 11 hours. It's still alive right now but obviously in no mood to play. If I do manage to bring it back, it will no doubt be a long-term reclamation project. Either way, I'll keep you apprised.

By the way, those little spots here and there are just die-off, not red bugs. Certainly not after 11 hours.

Very unique and interesting growth pattern. I think for color it is not a stunner but the growth pattern is what is attractive about this coral.
