New Purple Gig

Just in about a week ago. One of my platinums decided to leave her toadstool today, so I thought it was picture time! It's a bit bleached still, but eating like a pig and looking better every day. Mouth has been closed and tight since being introduced to the tank.

That's a beautiful coral. No wonder the clown left a toadstool for that. That's like moving from a cardboard box to a mansion.

Thank you! It's in a reef that's been established for several years, so I'm hopeful that all will be well. So far so good. :)

Wow, never seen a clownfish like that. Almost looks like he was painted! Very cool. :)

Please excuse the stupid question, but what is the worm-like looking thing in the second picture that seems to be going from the anemone to the clownfish? Not that I'm saying it's a worm, just don't know what else to compare it to.

That looks awesome!

Got to agree with mrbncal, I am so jealous - lol.

Did you find it at your LFS or online?

Hope you keep us updated on the progrss and post lots of photos.

Cheers,
K

It was actually an ebay purchase (my first reef ebay purchase), so I was a little nervous. I think there was actually a thread on it, and the two others that the seller had up for bid awhile back.

Through multiple e-mails witht the seller, I was made comfortable enough to be cautiously optimistic. :) And it has been great so far. The mouth has never been open, even when received, and it's ridiculously sticky. The stupid skunk shrimp keeps wandering in and getting stuck. It's like watching a fly in a web. He's lucky that he hasn't been eaten yet!

I have one from ebay back in October which I think you were talking about. It arrived perfect and is still doing very well and eats like a pig. Did you get it from ocean in a box? He seemed to know how to ship them pretty well and water was 74 when i got mine which was perfect I thought for overnight shipping.

What size tank and stuff did you put him in? FTS?

Plat Clowns

Plat Clowns

Hi

Superb anenome and even better clowns.

One thing I noticed, there's a 'backward' S shape, worm shape, what appears to be on the fish, but perhaps it's something else.

What do you recon ?

I think this was a more recent thread, actually. I got him from, I believe, goldenreefer? Something along those lines.

He's in our 46G bowfront, with the right side of the tank all his. I had moved everything from the right, assuming he would climb, but he's been planted in a hole in the rock right at the base from the start. So I moved stuff back for now. We have three other tanks that I can move things into when he starts taking up more room. :bounce3: He's under 4 T5's. Here's pic.

The worm is just a dead bloodworm. I had just fed the tank. :)

Nice looking tank. So I'm guessing the anemone is pretty small than? Like 6 to 8 inches? Don't feed him too much as he will be huge quickly if you do lol

Conrad

Yes, still small, about 6 inches I'd say.

I hear that. I have an 18 inch Haddoni, and a 12 inch RBTA ( all different tanks, of course). I seem attract large nems. :)-

Some updated pics.:) It's decided to move up afterall, which I assumed it would from the beginning. Just took it a few weeks.
