*NEW* Sequence Skimmer - Any Interest?

Yes, i ordered it on saturday - was shipped out monday, should be in FL on thursday.

I've tabbed 3 collection cups for a drain .. all acrylic to PVC ... always use 2 part liquic/gel-epoxy - NEVER had an issue with it.

I Don't want ot have to pull the air hose off the silencer, and get salt water into it ... justa nother thing i'll have to clean later. The drain plug idea sounds slow, and messy unless its hardplumbed before one fills the skimmer up.

as for the rubber fittings .. NO. you happen to get caught on a piece of pipe thats in there ... you'll yank it right out. happened to me this afternoon. I purchased a 55g Medical grade barrel ... the guy i purchased it from put a rubber seal in it, and then a ball valve ... while walking past, the cargo pocket on my right leg got caught, and pulled the ball valve right out. had ... 15-20 gallons of RO/DI water on the floor.

I only ue those for in-sump applications...too much risk otherwise as wizsmaster points out. Can't you guys just use a T off the recirc pump and use that to drain the skimmer?

you could but its pretty much a factory built fitting.

I will drain mine as and when I need to as I said above, once done a quick flush with RoDi and its clean.

---shopvacs with a little piece of hose taped into the spout work well as well....---

I've drained mine a couple of times. Just inserted tubing down the output riser tube until it hit the bottom of the box. Siphons out all but about 1/4" of the total water volume. It's not really that big of a deal considering how often your going to have to do it.

Yes i have also drained one of mine a couple of time just to fool around with it and if you take out the hose going to the silencer and just drain it out that way..... Not really a big deal at all...

OK this skimmer becoming a pain in the a$$ I have to clean the collection cup every two-three days because of all the crude its pulling. :eek2:

I sure did not have to do that with my old beckett:D

anyway to get a video posted? What model of BK is it comparable to. The 250?

Performance wise this skimmer would be equivelant to a BK 300 and possibly a BK 400. Unfortunately we do not have any videos of the skimmer running at this time. Maybe another owner with one might be able to post something on Youtube or the like for us?

Looks awesome! You should leave it on your desk for a few days, it would make a great conversation piece! ;) (Like you really can wait to get it home and running)
