Here are some pics of my new stand. Sean cranked this bad boy out in like 3 days. Talk about a rush job, and you'd never even know it from the quality!

Top dimensions are 42" x 24" and the stand is 36" tall.

Thanks man!

Yeah I picked it up last week, but haven't really had a chance to play with it yet, since I was getting ready for the move... which went about as rocky as it could've today. :rolleye1:

Hey Sean,

What did use use to bore out the holes for the hinges on the doors? Any certain distance from the edge?

I have a jig for doing that you can buy them at home depot or lowes if you can find them or you can try Rockler woodworking supply on the westside. they have them fer sure

Sean

If you're talking about the Rockler on Brookpark Road, they closed down not too long ago. Woodcraft is still open and you can still order from Rockler on line. Also, some of the euro hinges come with layout paterns for drilling the cup holes. That being said, where there's a jig there's a way. :)

Very nice work Sean. Is that prefinished plywood or did you put the poly on the inside? Very nice touch using plugs for the pocket screws in the doors. The devil is in the details.

the inside is done in Dimond P water base wood floor poly ....I like it cause its clear with no yellow ...only drawback its 70 dollars a gallon !!!!!

Well Sean's training paid off...

All it took was a few phone calls to make sure I was on the right track, and I managed to crank out my first stand.

Thanks guys... it's supposed to be Laura's first tank. I still have some more work to do, but it's almost ready for water.
