NEW Tank Build !!!

thanks ;)

It was supposed to be 36x36 but it stuck out passed the sofa so we shaved 4" off the width and now glad we did otherwise it would be an a outside tank! No way of getting it in the house, well not the stand anyway.

Funny, I'm in Turks right now..Beaches
This build looks great so far.. I'm very interested to see it develop.
Which skimmer are you using?
Can't wait to see the light hung.

How much gap do you guys leave from water height to Euro Brace? I dont like seeing much of a gap but also need room for turbulence.

My tank is eurobraced and I have about a half an inch gap. I have noticed with the Mitras I get a little bit more algae on the bracing. I believe it is a result of the greater light spread compared to my previous LED's.

Well, start dieting now, 'cause once you get to beaches, its pretty hard to stop eating. Your only hope is that you will burn calories chasing the kids around the water park!

My last tank had about a half inch as well. It did accumulate some calcium buildup but what are you going to do?.. Part of the regular maintenance to keep it clean..
Any more than that and you are taking away potential water height in the aquarium and it becomes hard to hide the water line..

We are investing on the island, looking at condos at the Alexandria as well as the South shore which is cheaper as still being developed.

Need a winter escape for when we get old and creeky!

Well, as I'm sure you are aware, it's been 24 during the sunfilled days and 23 at night. Every day... Don't get much more perfect than that..
Only downside for me is that it's been too windy to go in the water for snorkeling or diving..

Anyways, that's why we install reef tanks at home, so we can go diving in our living rooms!
What do you intend to keep in your tank?

We are up and running (after small Tsunami and electrocution that I will swiftly skirt over!)

I will post a video in a minute

Ha! My wife prefers... Never mind..

What are you running in the spectra pure media reactor?
I've never seen that reactor before..

Nice clean set up. I like the bubble free drainage. What is the section on the right filled with? looks like Marco rock or something? Just extra biological?

the reactor has carbon and trickle feed GFO.

The right side is not set up, yes its extra biological, it will have a small powerhead in there to create turbulance.
