just read through the whole thing, really an inspiration to me. I want to make my tank as clean as yours. Makes me rethink some things for sure.

I noticed you're back to T5 lighting? what is it about the LED that you keep moving away from? I was looking at the hydra 52s, so I'm curious.

Thanks for the compliment, take time plan well and make your tank a piece of furniture!...and easy to maintain.

Well the plan for this tank was to go with T5 lighting from the start, but all the issues with the giesemann's by chance got me to try LED...id probably still be playing with the Hydras but they were a bit too purple for me and needed more to cover the tank footprint, the HD is a nice blue. I dont want my TJ to get into an argument about lighting, but I find T5 just better - when I go to my LFS before I buy a coral I take it out of the LED tank and hold it under T5 to see what subtle colours it has before I buy it.

And...how sleek does a single light unit look above the tank compared to multiple light pods!

Rodney,
The tank is looking so sweet, just sleek, stylish, modern, but beautiful inside the tank too. Just a work of art! Looking forward to seeing whats to come in the future ;)
Subscribing for sure :)

Hi rodneyri, you tank is stunning.
I am also looking at the Pacific Sun fixtures and wanted to konw your experience.
I understood you changed the bulbs for ATI's?
How about controllability? Does this work well?

Love your work!

Thanks all, im trying to make the tank a statement...when you walk into my home its the centre piece - both the aesthetics and inside

Well ive had the light a few months now and I can say Im still happy with it...and I change lights like underwear lol, nothing but good to say about it - looks amazing, performs amazing, control its amazing...turning banks of T5 on at a time is nice. Dont bother with the PS tubes - ATI, KZ or Giesemann bulbs all the way.

Moved the scape to the left by about 5cm...just for more light coverage on the tips of the scape

Let me say that your tank is more than a statement to enter your home.
I can imagine that for many it is now a reference.
Nice growth on the SPS so far.
Can you say where you order the bulbs for your PS (ATI, KZ or Giesemann bulbs)?I am in Dubai and here I cannot find them. Is amazon the only way?

Took out the PAR meter today, measurements are roughly at the midpoint of the corals...tubes are about 6 weeks old - 4B+, 2C+, 1ABS, 1FP

Getting insane growth right now so something must be right! Its at the point where im counting down days for the corals to encrust to a reference point

Calcium @ 80ml a day, Alk @ 120ml a day - PO4 0.01, Alk 6.4, Cal 430

Are those measurements with the PS Diuna on full power? Looks like dimmed.
Good readings any way.

The readings are with all 8 tubes on, the photo is just one I used before with only two blue tubes on.

Getting there Andrew, need to get some AA or some type of food the corals are looking kinda pale...maybe add some skimmate back into the tank. Nitrates are reading zero.

A bit of skimmate after dark won't do any harm mate, never has for me whereas increasing fish feedings can and does come with more consequences imo.

Tank is looking fine mate. The scape looks spot on. That large area under the left rock section is prime area for a family of trachys...
