New toy

How are you liking the Trigger Systems Emerald 34? I will be replacing my DIY sump this weekend. I got it hoping it would make changing the filter socks easier - - the drains don't need to be touched to change the socks. Are you finding it (relatively) easy to swap them out? This will be my third iteration of drain / sock configurations.

Totally stealing the IKEA spice rack idea. My new system is the same dimensions Cadlights 100G. Very nice system you got.

Edit - Question, how did you attach the spice racks?

I like the sump, I don't find the filter sock difficult to change at all. I remove my skimmer collection cup and can easily reach back and remove the lid and remove each filter sock. I don't have to do anything with my drains to remove the socks. Overall, no issues or complaints with the sump.

The spice racks have keyhole cutouts in the back, I just used stainless screws and hung the racks. Just be careful to make sure you don't go all the way through your stand door or stand wall when you put the screws in.

Thanks!

I put mine in and it's running well. It is a little noisier than my old DIY sump. I was running a full siphon and am doing the same with the Emerald 34. But the water flowing over into the sock section creates a steady trickling sound. I'll trade a little noise to get easier sock access!

I use the black foam pad they include with the sump and I lay that down on top the of the filter socks to slow down the water a bit. Works well and it's silent, no trickle noise at all.
