New toy

OK, sorry all. Been very busy with work and been working no the tank on/off. Finally got around to posting an update, sorry for not having too many pictures. It's been like Christmas over here with new stuff being delivered just about daily :)

So I finally plumbed the tank, full siphon. It's running silently, love it. Here's what the inside of the stand looks like now. My sump only has 2 drains so I ran the emergency directly into the Refugium section, I also plumbed it in white PVC on purpose, makes it easier for me to ask the kids "Is there water coming out of the white pipe?" :)

For skimmer, I purchased a Vertex Omega 150 - wow! built like a tank. Off to the right, you'll see Trigger Systems' new ATO Reservoir, that just came in today. It's a brand new item that matches my sump perfectly looks/feels well made and holds 10 gallons. In the back, I mounted the BRS dual reactor, that's not fully setup yet but it'll be some time still before I need it. I'll get around to it this week sometime.

Also picked up this Dosing container from eBay, took tis sweet time to get here from China. Couldn't match the sump and ATO reservoir in color, so Orange it is. Looks and feels pretty decent and best of all, it doesn't leak.

An finally, here's a shot of the tank filled and cycling...woohoo!

I think it came out pretty decent, electrical and lights are still pending. I'll transfer all of that from the tank this one is replacing as soon as it's done cycling.

That's a really nice looking tank. Don't worry about things not matching. It looks good when you are showing it off. You will probably be the one looking at it the most while doing maintenance. Nothing wrong with the white. Most fads come and go. As long as it is neat and organized it will look good.

^^^^Yep

Very nice. Following thread.

Been very busy with work so I haven't had time to post any updates, but also been very busy with the tank...Here goes.

Tank cycled, and all levels looked good, did one last large water change (~45 gallons). Added all my corals and allowed the tank to run for another week before introducing any fish. When it was time to add my fish, I started with my most docile leaving my Yellow and Purple tangs for last. I moved them over at the same time, since they have a history of being not so nice to each other, I then ran the tank with no lights for a day so they'd have some time to settle in. Here's the completed tank.

Here's a shot of the whole tank.

I moved all my equipment from my old tank to the new one, tried to make it as neat as possible. Holy cow there's a ton of cables...I used Industrial strength Velcro to attach anything that was to be attached to the inside cabinet wall; except for my EB8, that's held on using screws. I also made a wooden bracket to hold my dosing pump. The RO tubing used for the Avast ATO is quite long (you can see it coiled up in the back right), not sure if I can trim it down some to make it neater. I'm going to reach out and ask them...

Also, to help keep things organized and maximize space, I used a pair of these $4 Ikea spice racks stained to match the cabinet color on the inside of the doors. They add very little weight to the door but help keep everything nice and neat.

Overall, I think the tank turned out pretty nice. Again, can't say enough great things about the job Felix did with the tank, certainly top notch quality.

Tank's been running since late August, wanted to post an update of how it looks now. I switched my lights from LED's to T5's and the growth has been incredible, I'm now running a 48" ATI Dimmable, it's a really nice fixture. I'm pretty happy with he way it's coming along

Tank's been running for a few months (since August 1) so I figured I'd post a few pics of how it's coming along. Pics aren't the best, I need to get me a lens better suited for closer shots.

Here's the whole tank. I switched from LED's to T5's back in October and the growth has been amazing since.
