If you have any skimmer I would use it in the beginning, for 3 months at least, during of tank maturation. In my opinion you ought to have some mechanical filter. I use synthetic filter floss.

Actually the tank is 36 years old. I have the Idol almost 4 years.

Wow Paul b That tank is younger than me by 1 year. Congrats on keeping it running that long and it does look nice. Now if my new 125 could look that nice I'd be ecstatic.
There are some really beautiful tanks on this thread, congrats to all.
 
Those are XM 20k 400se. It's not really that blue. My camara skills are poor

nice u do deserve a frag lol... i saw the email saying a reply to this thread and after scannin it i finally remember it lol ... thanks for bumpin it there are a ton of sweet tanks on it thats for sure... mine was on page 2 and its grown out some since that....
