Currently I have a 72" x 24" x 24" tank lit by 4 x 250 watt radiums and I'm looking to switch over to the Gen 3 Pro's. I'm debating between 3 Pros and some supplemental lights in between, or going with 4 Gen 3 Pro's across the 72" (yes, it might be overkill, but I like light and flexibility).

I'm planning on retrofitting my canopy and opening the top for more ventilation, as well as keeping my VHO's for additional colors at night.

What kind of schedule would you recommend for the change over to Radions? Any feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

I have a tank with the same dimensions. For what it is worth, my tank has been running well with 3 Radion Pros.

If you go with four, what type of mounting configuration will you use? For night, the Radion blues rock IMO, so you may not need any supplemental lighting. You gotta see it to believe it!

Make sure to use the acclimation mode. What's currently in your tank?

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.

Mounting configuation? Like right next to each other evenly spaced for less transition spots?

Currently, my tank is just a mixture of run of the mill corals and fish.

I agree, 3 XR30w G3 Radion Pros will provide you with all the light you could need.

I had 3 Gen 1 over my 60" tank and had more than enough spread i could not turn them above 60% or my upper corals would cook

i have a 5 footer cade, with 4 X G3 Pro.

I like soft light. Full SPS with great growth and colour.

Schedule start at 10 for a 10 hours day. I have all 4 on 50% intensity. At peak with all colour channel at 100% for 2 hours. Ramp up & down aside with the peak between 15K and 20K. Planning to increase the full blast hour slowly in coming months, 0.5 hour each month until i get to 5 hours.

That's what I'm talking about! How wide is your tank? Do you have any shots from the front of the tank? Cheers.

A little slow on progress, but at least they look good under the Christmas Tree!

Keep that intensity down especially at the beginning!!! I lost a lot of coral thinking I was not supplying enough light. I was running at 85% Finally in a last ditch effort I dropped my intensity down to 25% and everything started coming back. I am now at 50% at the peak. This is on a 70*30*30 my 4 gen 2 pro Radions are 10 inches off the waterline.
