I am thining about adding a contorler to my 55g that I am setting up. I am leaning towards the Aqua Contorler 2 but I have lots of questions and I am hoping that there is some one who has some actuall expirence with one. What does the DC8 do? Is it a power strip with a higher proce tag? What all can the x10 do? On Off Dimmer? If you where to get one what all would you get with it? Is it worth the upgrade to lab grade probes/

Thanks in advance

Luke

1) Unless you plan to run ozone or a Calcium reactor the AC Jr. would be suffice for you. Much cheaper too!

2) The DC8 takes all of the worries about X-10 failure out of it. X-10 modules are units that send and recieve signals to and from a controller through your electrical wire. Noise interference can cause a module to not "hear" a command and not turn on or off the attatched device. This can be avoided by noise cancelers installed inline. The DC8 eliminates the need of X-10 units all together and IMO is worth the money. Plus the X-10 modules run between 15 to 20 dollars each. (you need one for each devise you plan to control)

3)Lab grade probes are made of different materials but are not necessary in my opinion. The standard probes work just fine.
