Figured I'd check in to see everyone getting geared up for the season and nothing? I just got back from a bear hunt in the adirondack park. Gonna be hard to top last years wall hanger, but there is a big ten wandering the same woods.

I'm with ya brother! New bow. New lease. 3 other new places. Scouted every weekend I wasn't working. Got an 11 on cam several times. I'm ready for Freddy!

We have the 200 acre lease in Locke. One of our group bought an additional 80 acres connecting to it. We were out couple weeks ago moving stands. Cutting shooting lanes. Hanging new stands. Posting the property lines. All wooded areas. Wish we had some field land. Little man keeps asking to go with me. I'd set him up in my blind in a heartbeat.

Food plots. Create your own transition areas. We leased a neglected 160 acres. Got a farmer to plant the vacant ag fields. Hung a bunch of stands. Haven't set foot in there for weeks and probably won't until late October. May take a few years, but have big plans for the place. Clover, beans, corn, brassicas. It's got a nasty stank swamp at the back. It's awesome. Also got 100+ new acres in Sennett. Not much on cam, but if there are does....they will come! Sure psyched. My wife thinks I've cracked. Treestand in the back yard for practice. Chasing her around he house with a grunt call....sorry, TMI.....

We can't cut enough of the area for food plots. The land owner has it logged every so many years. We could do the throw n grow stuff. The guy that owns the field on east side of the property has it turned every year and grows Timothy hay. Never seen deer in his field. Corn, soy beans and so many other things he could do to make it better for himself. My brother in laws lease some land in Sennett. They always take several deer a year.

I took my safety course and polished up my rifle. I havent ever deer hunted before but the recent allowance in using a rifle has me a little excited.

I can't wait to get out there, been a long off season. Bow still on, got new broadheads on, I ready to go. Only thing different this year is using the lumenoks, no particular reason other than pretty wild watching them fly.

That I am looking extremely forward to seeing. It's a big year for camp, gonna start bringing the boy out with me, he only 9 but super excited to get out there. Already got a couple blinds set up, and eyes on a couple does....unless that big 'ol 10 strolls by :)

Ohhh..... I'm getting ready. I've been shooting the bow a bit, and will be putting out the trail cam this Sunday.

15 or 20 years ago, the neighbor always had corn in the field next to the land we hunt. He died and the new owner stopped doing it. The past 2 years, he's been leasing it to another farmer who has put in soybeans. The past couple years, there has been more, bigger deer.

I'd love to purchase a new bow, but unfortunately, it's not in the cards right now. Maybe next year.

My #1 hit lister.
Will I ever see him, not bloody likely.
Does it make long cold hours go byy quicker knowing there's bruisers cruising around?
Hells yeah!

Cant wait! I dont bow hunt, but i bought a Browning 30-06 last year, that I'm dying to try out! Got it all sighted in, just need to find some antlers!

Boy things sure have changed since last I set foot in the woods with murder on the brain lol And atm i couldnt even if i wanted bc my guns are in a locker without a working key lol

not too excited about deer this year, my bow partner is acting up. probably will be forced to hunt public. took a bearded hen this spring. the boy and I got a few geese. my pudelpointer is really starting to get her act together. She already has some great retrieves and was hell on woodcock today. Not sure if I want to hunt the grouse opener or try my luck with the tree cows.

11 hrs. Sleep unlikely. Got an invite to hunt a honey hole. Trail photos look promising. Good luck, pick a spot, shoot straight.
