Great, I want to see exactly how you accomplish that! I'm all for keeping the equipment out of view and am glad to see you guys are thinking the same way.

Well after the 6th time of dumping 20+ gallons on my floor. I finally decided to hook up my auto topoff and dosing systems to my frag tanks. :)

Like Scott mentioned we are using acylic boxes to house the (6)tunzes and we will put them on (2) seperate controllers to get a full-blown chaotic flow in the system. The total flow in the tank will depend on what is on and off, but hypothetically if everything was on at once it would be around 38,000 gph.

That should be a good number, I have 30,000gph but also have 2 waveboxes which put it around 40K depending on how the flow of waveboxes is calculated, I think thats a good number for a tank of this size.

Cool thing is my tunzes in the acrylic boxes that Scott is making will replicate a tunze wavebox (bascially making the tank rock back and forth)

Very nice, Steve Ngo has just built a tank with external boxes that I really like. My next tank will surely have hidden Tunzes! You know how it is, you get your tank done and then people come up with ideas you wish you had thought of :)
I look forward to those pictures ;)

No updates as of yet. Scott is planning on bringing all the equipment up wednesday morning and we should be water testing friday afternoon. I am guessing I will have fish in the tank late august with corals soon after.

TIME FOR REAL UPDATES!!!!

We are actually building stuff!! Scott arrived late wednesday afternoon and the aquascaping and plumbing has begun! I have a ton of pictures and Scott would like some comments on the aquascaping so I am posting pictures of what we have thus far. He was comments on flow pattern accessibilty, fish movement ability and overall looks. I am also posting progress pictures for the last couple days. Please feel free to let loose and fire questions away and I will try to answer ASAP!

Thanks,

David

PS - Pics will follow right now

I think it looks great, any chance of getting a arial shot of the aquascaping to get a better idea of depth of the rock work.

I love the rockwork....I think you will have NO problem with swim area for the fish, yet there is plenty of places for corals to be mounted.

The only problem that I see is the skimmer...I think it may be a little big for your system! :) Cheese and Rice, that thing is F-in HUGE!!

Everything looks great!

Scott just left for the night to rest his knees and back. I will take a couple more pictures of the updated tank and try and get an arial view as well as a rear view if I can.

Now that the skimmer is here scott had an idea to move the frag tanks over about 1-2 feet. This would greatly help with maintenance and veiwing capabilities.

That should be it for now. I will post pictures asap tonite.
