o2manyfish 750g Tank, 1500g System "Built" Thread

Dave, sorry I've been MIA. I can come over to your house to try to get some nice pics of your beautiful tank! Now I can't promise anything, but if we set it up, we can try out best for some nice FTS as well :)

I can possibly go this Saturday (need to ask wife about any plans first). Can't remember if I got your cell number last time, but shoot it to me via pm and we can talk some more.

Mikeintosh -- Thank you,

Rickztahone - No worries about being MIA - The tank is still looking good (Thank God). I won't be sure of my Sat schedule till closer to the weekend. I know I am busy between 10-1am - Helping a fellow reefer setup an Apex. Not sure what my wife has planned for the afternoon yet. To the left of my tank and across from my tank are all glass doors. So to take photos we have to wait till the sun goes down or there is just too many reflections.

I am curious about triton trace elements. I found the website, but I am not finding who sells it. If you have some spare time can you go into more details about it and how you use it?

Thanks

this is seriously the nicest, brightest tank I've seen. Great job!

It's also awesome how the yellow tangs have seemingly been in the same spot in EVERY photo!

Unique corals is set-up as a US supplier. There is also now a Triton-US company, but their website appears to be down.

The big deal with Triton isn't so much their brand of trace or macro elements, it's their use of lab grade full spectrum molecular analysis machines to tell you what your water chemistry is.

There is no guessing about what your trace elements are. You know EXACTLY what they are, which are ones being depleted, and how fast.

Hi Guys,

Here is some video I shot a couple of nights ago. I was trying to get the video a little brighter then the previous videos that turned out dark. I didn't use a tripod so if you have motion sickness issues lean back from the screen. It was shot in HD so if it appears out of focus click the HD button.

Great video. Thx for taking the time to share with us.

I'm sorry to be the one to say this, but you really do need a bigger tank.

Or another one... or two.

Srsly.

Dave.M,

So the acrylic on this tank is starting to go bad. I'm going to need to replace the tank. But I am really happy with the dimensions of his tank, and for where the tank is I can't do anything different. But the thought of removing all the livestock just to drop a big chunk of change to end up with the exact same thing -- didn't sound like fun.

So I might flip the tank to the opposite side of the room it is in. Which would give me the ability to go 10x3 or 10x4. But that is a much bigger chunk of change and I have to have a new stand built. And as much as I like the idea of 4' from front to back. I won't be able to physically reach across 4-6' of tank to work with corals on the back wall. Good news is the wife is fully supportive of a bigger tank. But now I just have to save up the coinage and the pull the trigger.

Nice tank, great video.

Question looks like a few damsels (which is great btw) in there. What are the ones with the red tails? Assuming that they are indeed damsels.

Edit: You are mentioned replacing the tank due to age. I noticed some soft corals types on the back or sides of the tank. How would you move those or would you? It is a really nice mix of coral types. Nice to see that they can do well or maybe you just have a green thumb :)

Edit 2: Dumb question. What happens when lights go out? Do the fish sleep? Does the tank pretty much go on auto pilot and it is calm like a Sunday morning or is it more like New York or Las Vegas whereas the night doesn't end.

total awesome dude!!! trying to sound Californian:lol:....but really that is one amazing dt. love the coral mix!!!! xania, do you find it hard to control with sps'? mine is over growing some!!!
