Great so far.

I was waiting on a Tunze 6000 setup w/controller, but they kept pushing out delivery dates :-(

I ended up saving a ton of money and so far these guys rock.

They really move water and have done a great job while my rock cooks.

Once I add LS I will have to adust them a bit to ensure I dont have a sand storm, but from what I seen while my rock is cycling I think this is the right number of PHs for my setup.

I am either going to wait on the HK controller that should be out soon or get a Seio to run the HK4s off of as well.

Pretty slick huh?

Haha! Yeah they're slick! I'll trade you some NO Fluorescence for them, what do you say? I'll even pay for shipping :)

KMP -

100lb of fiji
30lb of deep water fiji

LFS cut me a really nice deal.

The deep water fiji ended up being 3 large pieces nice color/shape.

The "regular" fiji had some very nice pieces - branches, lots of holes, good color and lots of life. I keep seeing new stuff pop up every day.

I would have had more rock, but I took my wife and she was dead set on helping..

Wife - I like that rock all covered in that purple stuff.
Reply - Yes dear it is very nice, but very large and dense.
Wife - But I like that rock all covered in that purple stuff.
Reply - Yes dear I like the purple stuff as well, but that rock probably will cost $100 on its own.
Wife - But I like that rock. It has all that purple stuff and I think you should get it.
Reply - Yes dear it is a very nice rock. I guess I will get it.
Wife - I think you will be very happy with the rock I helped you pick out.
LFS - That will be $500.00 dollars.
Wife - You spentding $500.00 dollars on rock!!!

Radio was on really loud all the way home :-)

Larry,

That is the same sand I used on my tank. its really good stuff, just make you have some live rock to put in the tank either before or after the sand to give the bacteria something to attach too.

My tank was cloudy for two days until i put the live rock in...

J3,

Nice looking setup, if you have not bought the Tunze yet I would look at the vortech. I just went to my co-workers house and he has the tunze's and have to say they are nice but the stream was not as broad and gentle like the vortech.

Just something to consider if you are waiting to long.......I had to want for my Tunze Top-off for about 4 weeks.

Oceanic's web site sucks as we all know, but can any of you tell me this, what is the difference between the tech and the ultimate series tanks? and why do they cost more?

your best bet might be to call them. click on the contact link on there site. I am not sure what the ultimate features, that the Tech's don't and vise versa.

I just got an 70gallon Ultimate Series, the difference between it and the the Tech Series are the square overflow, black silicon, and Euro bracing. The Ultimate Series are pretty much the standard oceanic tank except the front glass panel is Starfire and the back glass panel is black tinted glass.
