It's a fair price but could be lower.... however if you LFS's don't make any money off it's customers then you won't have a LFS to browse... We've lost two in just the last year that had been in business for a long-long time.... So i guess a little give and take. I paid $1050 for mine with Coralife Halide fixture so i guess it worked out the same.

Got my 90g Tech today:

Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the overflow on the 120. I just ordered the 120 tech from my lfs and am building the stand. I wanna makesure I leave room on top for plumbing.

What comes with the tank and stand package? sump? plumbing?

Oceanic provides the overflow kits with the tank. If you purchase an Oceanic sump, the plumbing comes with that (at least mine did).

Am I the only one bothered by the huge overflow in the middle of the tank? I like the Oceanic brand, but the overflow is a showstopper for me. I wish there were two unobtrusive overflows in the corners, something like 5" by 5" each. Does anyone make tanks like that?

It is kind of big. I think because it is a dual overflow plus the returns are on there. So there are 4 holes drilled. I don't know, but I'd take one. =)

didn't bother me with aquascaping. I prefer it in the back as apposed to in the corners. if I had two in the corners, it would have been a problem. my 58g oceanic I had at one time had 1 in the left coorner, and it was probably 6x6. with the tank dems 36x18, it took up a lot of room in my opinion.

I could be wrong, but I thought that's how perfecto's reef ready tanks were made. You might look into those.

nice, close to the price I just got quoted. I couldnt justify spending 600 bucks on the stand, they look nice but I can build better for half of that. Good luck with it.

nattydread,

Congrads on the Tech120. The problem you will find is the tank is so nice you really want to put nice (expensive) items with it :)

i was about to order somethign custom, but then with shipping etc... it was adding up fast. This way I can spend alittle more on toy's.

Any recco's for flow? Cant decide wether to get a flow package from tunze, or somethign that a controller could run. The Vortech's look tasty too. Maybe get one of those, with the battery backup and a single contoled tunze?

Im allready eyeing a mrc sump and skimmer.

this will be a mixed tank, no sps, so i might go with t5's.

Agreed, lol.

I am going to run the 2 vortechs, with the controllers, and the battery backups, 3 Mj1200's dropped in the back and bottom to stir up the dead spaces, and then either 2 more vortechs, or 2 tunze nano streams. :D

1 oceanic tech tank and stand $1100
4 vortech mp40's $1400
1 48" H4 Solaris $2500

100x Turn over in a 120... priceless... :D
