Very cool setup! Where did you get the tall white container in the corner and what are you using it for?

Hey guys. How much of a pain is it to scrape the glass underneath the over-hang going around the rim? I love these tanks and the over-hang, but was just wondering how you'd do it. Should you just plan on getting your hands wet every time to scrape or will a standard scraper still do the job despite the over-hang?

Ro storage. Its 55 gal, 120 bucks delivered.

Thanks, pricey, but cool. I'm still trying to decide what to use for RO and SW holding tanks. I was just in Home Depot and they have an enclosed 55G rain barrell for $79.

Thanks for the heads up, but I don't think the place you mentioned is near me as I'm in Northern CA. The best price I've gotten so far is $755 for the tank only.

John
Great price!

I've been trying to figure out what plumbing parts I'm going to need and looked at the holes in the overflow of my 120G and see that all four holes are the same size. Is that correct? Are there any problems using the 3/4" bulkheads in that big of a hole?

Bud,

I'm re-plumbing my 120 Tech right now, and the overflow holes will accept either 1" or 3/4 " bulkheads. I'm re-plumbing because I am hard-plumbing my new skimmer.

The overflow kits that came with the tank have one 1" bulkhead for the overflow and two different 3/4" bulkheads for the return. I took them out of the box to get a better look and one of the 3/4" bukheads needs the same size hole as the 1" so I guess that would be the one to use and the other is an extra? Is that the same kits that came with yours?

Yes, the Oceanic overflow kits come with a 3/4" bulkhead and a universal 3/4" bulkhead. I used the regular 3/4" bulkhead on mine.

If the hole is 1 3/4", then it is drilled for 1" bulkhead and this is what you should be using. If the hole is 1 7/16", then it is drilled for 3/4" bulkhead. There is too much give if you install a 3/4" bulkhead into the 1 3/4" hole and if the bulkhead even slips a little, it can spring a leak.

Thanks Joe! Looks like we have something else in common-birding!

Thanks, all four holes are 1 3/4" but one of the 3/4" bulkheads has a fatter body that is the same as the 1" bulkhead so it also requires a 1 3/4" hole. I guess that's the difference between an AGA-3/4 and an AGA-3/4U.

Here is a shot of my 120. It is my first attempt at posting or resizing a photo so please
forgive the poor quality.

600 gph x 2, but they can handle more. Im using the herbie method with about 800 gph on one drain and still have to choke back the gate valve on the drain.

i have a euro reef rs-250 love it, alittle overkill but i have 160 gal total system. and i will be adding a 40 gal frag tank so it should be perfect.
