Official: Masterflex Calcium Reactor Setup Thread

I see a few people were selling heads that are ls17 compatable. Anyone still have one they are selling for a reasonable price?

You do realize the pump heads are all interchangeable? For instance, I use a 7018-21 due to the higher flow rate at a lower RPM. Keeps the motor noise down.

The 7018-21 is not an Easy Load head and doesn't support the pharmed tubing let alone LS17 tubing. It requires LS18 silicone tubing that will wear out very fast when being run 24/7. It's not really well suited for continuous 24/7 duty. It's fine for ATO use but not ideal for calcium reactor use.

Yeah my reasoning is I want to use it for Calcium reactor. The head that I am getting with it is the one that is for ls15 and ls24. But why spend all the money on the incorrect tubing etc. I'll just find the correct head.

That makes sense now. I have been running with the same tubing for over 9 months, I should change it.

Hi All.

I have a Cole Parmer 7551-00 unit. It has recently died .

It took a power surge and i have had the unit looked at and have been told i have a dead board. Oh yay.

So im looking for..

1. 7551-00 unit that i can steal some parts from.
2. 7523-80 Motor. I believe this is the replacement motor they suggested.

Here is the board that died

this is one of two boards the motor has. Id like both but this is the critical one.

So anyone have any donor units?

Thanks

7523-80 is a complete brushless 600 rpm pump. That's what I run and they aren't cheap either. Last I checked, those are going for around $900 on eBay. Since the 7551-00 is a newer model, have you considered sending it into CP to see what they would charge for the board swap?

I tried CP locally ( New Zealand ). They wouldn't touch the board or even consider a change . Tried to sell me a whole new motor just so I could get the two boards :(. Trying the USA CP division now .

I can't see a for sale section here but I'm tempted to just buy the wife a replacement if I can get one.

I'd look on eBay for 7523-80's. Or buy a brand new 600 RPM brushed model. This assuming you don't mind spending the money for a newer model.

I bought the Kamoer
FX-STP Peristaltic Dosing Pump - and it works just like the Master Flex so far so good !! Brand new 250 compare to 2,000 for a Flex

That's cool . So no problems with it after 3 years now ? What is the part number ( stepper Motor ) ? I want to get one as well . I'm guessing we can install it ourselves if need so .
