I've had my gig for about 6-7 weeks now. Despite one minor collapse the first week, he has always looked great, very sticky and eats well. However, I've always noticed that his mouth has never been in the center of the critter, but rather way off to the side. I assume maybe he budded this way? His mouth has always been "ok" but never great for tightness. I always found this odd because how healthy he otherwise appeared.
Well last night he decided to leave the rock pile and climb up the overflow box, right up to the teeth. While I'm happy he didn't find the powerheads, now his mouth looks terrible - almost like it can't support the body mass of hanging vertically on the wall.
So, now I face the question that almost all nem-keepers ask themselves eventually: do I get a credit card out and carefully remove him from the wall, and bring the lights down a little; or leave him alone and hope he doesn't find a powerhead?
Man I was just about to claim victory with this thing. But I guess if it were easy it wouldn't be fun.
