I must say...I just spent the last 4 days skimming through some of your posts and looking at all of your pictures and all I have to say is...

WOW!!

This tank and system is totally awesome...shame I can only afford a 30g right now and hopefully be able to finish setting up my 75g by the end of the year... ;)

thanks for the compliments, but seriously, buy a bigger tank. 75g makes a nice sump and you can get a 200 or 300g off craigslist for the same price. Got to be creative to go big. I am no rich guy by any stretch but I designed my system to be very efficient electrically etc. you can do it too.

Want to save money? do a 5' x 3' x 20" look down tank on a simple stand with no hood. hang the lamp from the ceiling, run a fan across the water for evap cooling, and there you have it.

I really wish I could do that...the tank I have is about as big as I can go with the space available...we live in a modular home with 7 kids... yeah, 7...so, we have no room available for a fish room and no basement so jacking up the floor joists for more than about a 75 or 90 is not doable without a major cost...I got the tank for a steal which is why I went with it, but I would maybe like to trade it for a 90 instead to get the extra height...

contact sherm71tank. he just swapped out his 75g for a 90g which is on the breakfast bar. He beefed up the bar supports a bit and it looks really good,. he is the go-to guy for ghetto rigging tanks and his reefs are ALWAYS extremely beautiful and well maintained. I love checking out his stuff. he has two scribbles in his!

hehehehe...come on over and empty my bucket...my back hurts and I had to have Sherman do it the last time he was over....

I have been out of it for tha past few days and so have not been able to post much. My RO/DI pressure pump seized up, I have a brown algae outbreak, I need to remove the sand from my display, build a floss shelf, and mod my skimmer...and the worst part is I can't bend over without some fairly serious medication. So the lull in posting is no lack of desire, although the meds make me less likely to want to do anything other than watch the boob tube.

I'll be back at it soon enough!

Thanks guys. Doc appointment at 4:45pm today...got more meds to get me through...the horrible thing about it is that once upon a teenaged time, I decided not to become a scientist because I didn't want to spend my life in a lab in front of a computer. All my buddies went on that track and now work for large tech companies in high-paying miserable jobs that can be downsized while they take a bathroom break. I then went to chef school in which I discovered that life sucked too.

Along the way I have always been anti-pharmaceutical, anti-therapy, anti-etc. and now my miserable life is filled with un-fun drugs, therapy groups, and it only seems to get worse. At my last brain-injury group, a guy hadn't been on his meds and went violently berserk...I decided I didn't need to hang out with those guys anymore, and now this back injury has me bed-ridden. The only thought that comes to mind is to get a laptop so I could post from bed!

And Gabriel, did you sneak into my place and finish the Crater Lake? All I am down to is about half a bottle of 3 Olives....and I am not sure I should drink it, what with the valium and perkoset!

Either get a laptop, or a wireless keyboard and mouse and a HUGE monitor to see from across the room. ;)

Hey Jonathan, you know if you need a hand with anything I'm right down the street. If I can get away from work long enough! I guess I still have the weekends at least... Is this what management is suppose to be like? I tell ya, I envy my hourly employees during these times. "Break time" "Lunch time" "Time to go home" These words I miss!!!! Damn, sounds like I'm whining!!! (maybe a little) :D
