Eco-Tech wasn't kidding when they said the WWD is line-of-sight...I just found out by walking in between two of them and realizing that the slave was stuck in its last command. When I walked away, it started right back into the routine. very bizzarre.

That just proves what we knew all along: You're dense.

Sorry to hear about the cooked quarantine. I knew there were ways to erradicate pests and infections, but that wasn't one of the ways I'd go with. ;)

Love the clownfish picture. 400 would be clown heaven for me. :inlove:

Hey Marc, I have been telling you guys all along that I am dense...and believe me, there's no better way to cook your rock than over-night at 109F. Only 3 bristleworms in the tank though.

I hope she takes a pic of the entire clown baby tank setup. It is really wild to see them all in action, and when she turns the light off, they ball up within 2 - 3 seconds and pile on the anemone. Unfortuantely, there's not enough anemones to host them all, so there is a lso a ball or two of 50+ nems freaking out.

When I pulled the GBTA out of my tank, and the rock it was on, I found some very large turds laying on the bottom. Larger than what I would suspect could come out of any of my fish. I also found the remains of a large crab. Not a crab that I put in there either, but some kind of red crab with fat, stout claws. That was a little surprising!!

So apparently zoanthids don't care about being boiled...the small colony that was in the QT over-night at 109F is alive and well. About 80% of the polyps are opened up. So I guess it will be them and the cockroaches when we all get fried.

Jonathan, I have really enjoyed reading this entire thread over the past week or so. Congrats on such a nice system, with or without the hardships you have been thru. Also, I enjoyed the videos of your protein skimmer. If you ever have the chance, how about a video/videos of your entire setup.

Welcome Snook65! Well, I have been contemplating that for some time. I just am not sure how to direct it, what people would be interested in, and I would have to clean the glass. I have a lot of frags right now and I want to re-do my aquascaping. plant them, and let them grow out a bit. Personally, I can't stand pictures of tank with tiny frags glued all over the place, so I will probably wait on a full-scale video until I feel more accomplished with the overall look.

With a smaller tank, it is much easier to create a "full" reef scene, and although there are some really cool areas in my tank, as a whole, it is lacking in that area.

It will come, but it is going to be a while. :)

Picked this up at the PSAS Frag Swap yesterday...

purple_slimer_111707.jpg

That's a purple slimer under T-5. When I got it home last night, I checked it out under the 20K halides and it looked like purple fire. It has to do its time in QT, but I can't wait to get this beauty into the display!

Thanks. it is really cool when the polyps are out. I took that shot right after the lights came on in the QT, but decided to try out the black background to see if I could do it. Looks pretty good that way I think.

I agree. Makes me want to get some type of quarantine system up soon so I can start getting some acros and montis...

How long do you quarantine and do you do any dips? I'm an idiot when it comes to corals and am just starting to learn, unfortunately I am a hands on learner:(

Great looking coral Jonathan!

Hop... Dip,dip, dip, dip, dip!!! A couple local reefers lost there whole tanks to Acro eating flat worms by not dipping once.

What are you dipping? I'm not sure I can get intercept locally. One vet laughed at me when I asked... I was going to try the horse vet that lives behind me. Like I said, I'm learning... Spent all these years playing with equipment and never learned much about corals and now I'm switching my studying to corals, livestock and chemistry:D

I use Tropic Marin Coral Cure. I use a LOT more than it calls for. I make the water almost orange with it, let it sit for 10-15 mins., then blast the crap out of it with a turkey baster to blow anything off the coral. Then do a close eye inspection for any eggs.

Thanks.. I read the faqs, guess I was in the wrong spot... And opinions are mixed when I use ye ol' search feature:D
