Actually the wrasses caught in that shot are a mystery wrasse (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus) and the one I think you are referring to which is a male leopard wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris).
I do have a melanarus but it is camera shy. They do have fairly similar coloring but very different patterns.

I only used them for a short while about 1.5 years ago or so and had corals die so I stopped. I use Prodibio now and it seems to be working nicely.
I would suggest one of the factors in the equation may be genetics but I think mainly it's environmental like lighting & flow. Mine is located directly under a 250w MH bulb (about 14" below the surface) and in the path of flow near my MP60W power head.
what are you dosing or adding besides prodibio?
my tank is mixed reef and since i have used biopellets the tank has gone down....i have stopped the bio pellets and no 4 weeks into prodibio....
Good luck on the future of your tank. I have always enjoyed looking at your pictures because they show your dedication to the hobby.
I dose a little sponge power & amino acids as well.

No I lost my meredithi almost 2 years ago (I think). It's been so long I don't even remember what happened to it but I think my imperator killed it however over time it turned out to be very reef unfriendly and was eating LPS corals & even strpping my birdnests (s.caliendrum, ect) down to the bare skeleton so I wasn't all that sad to see it go. That said I had hoped to catch it and move to a different tank.

I read the last three pages of this thread and decided to start from the beginning...1-40 then skipped to 60. The reason I wanted to read it from the beggining, is the tank looks so nice now that I wanted to see a progression. After I learned this tank had a die off (including the mutant acro RIP) I was shocked. Version 2 is impressive.
Thanks, that is a lot of reading. I am hoping this new version will eventually be better than the last one. That mutant acro was quite unique wasn't it?
