I've been extremely frustrated trying to figure out my Apex Jr. Had a fellow reefer update the firmware and program the outlets. Still can't figure the darn thing out. I have a help ticket with Neptune and waiting for their response to see how they can help. That whole 'Fusion' thing is a foreign language. Thinking about going back to the Reefkeeper. Wondering if someone might be willing to swap my Apex Jr for one of the Reefkeepers. The Jr comes with the display. Again, just mulling this over..but want to see if there's any interest. Let me know what you have to swap. If it's much nicer than what I have, I'm willing to add $$$. TIA

From what I have heard the Apex is way better and easier to use than a Reefkeeper. I personally use neither I use a ReefAngel I do really like it. But it is not nearly as plug and play as a Apex. However, the owner of the company lives in Dublin semi local he and many other uses on the forum are extremely helpful and fast to respond to any issues.
Apex is based out of Gilroy, CA also close by. I have contacted them several times. They are easy to get a hold of but seem to have a much bigger corporate vibe. Overall probably the most popular and commonly used controller.
Digital Aquatics in Oregon is ran by some nice guys I have also talked to them. IF you mention MARS they may or may not give 15% off they were giving us a deal if you bought anything after the last MARS frag swap. Unfortunately, in the past I have heard the customer service was horrible, but I have also heard they restructured the whole company and they has changed.
Proiflux.... I know very little about them other than they are more or less the Ferrari of controllers for reef tanks and Koi ponds around the world.
My personal opinion give it a little more time try to work out the kinks and get a hold of Neptune Systems customer service.

Stick with the apex... once you figure the language out its so much more controllable and in my experience built better.
That's what I heard. That's why I made the change. Now that my tank is somewhat 'healthy', I want to be able to have the ability to monitor and control it.

I was able to figure out the apex and I'm not the most tech savy. Their guide helps alot. It is like a different language when you start. I found looking up something simple like program a heater or program a light make the language start to click. Then the more complex programming became simpler. I'd recommend starting on page one and skimming through the guide.

Call Neptune I was having trouble setting up with my network in the apartment complex where I live and they were able to talk to the provider on the phone with me on the line and make the console work. Also check out the BRS videos on YouTube they help a lot!

What are you trying to do with the controller? If your just doing basic stuff the cheap reefkeeper is super easy to use and works solid. I used it for lights, skimmer, heater. Nothing crazy and it was perfect.
