If you haven't already, visit Tongs Tropical Fish in OC and Seaside Tropical Fish also in OC. They usually have at least more colorful Haddonis and sometimes Giganteas. I go to those fish stores once every 2-3 months and Vivid once every 5-6 months even though Vivid is closer to where I live. OC stores never disappoint.

Yep, been there several times. But it wasn't my lucky day. I think I have been to all LFS's in a 50 mile radius in the past 2 months looking for the elusive S.Gigantea. I bought all my LR from Seaside. Santa Monica and West LA are the worst when it comes to LFS. Not a single 1/2 decent store, and there's only 2. The problem with 99% of LFS's is that even if you call asking specifically for a Gigantea, they won't have a clue what you're talking about. Carpets are carpets. I found that I have better luck asking what color they have. On average if they say, bright green it means it is a Haddoni, if they say tan/brown it could be a gig. I never heard them say blue or purple ;)
 
hypnoj, what LFS are you referring to? That is quite a bit of money, the last mag I purchased was a purple base with green tentacles and purple tips. I have never seen a color combo like it and I only paid $100. It sounds like the one you are looking at has a very nice color combo, but $250 for a mag? Whew!

Drip acclimating and treating with Cipro immediately. Water was 70.5, with a cool pack. Not a ton of water, but didn't smell or anything. Picked it up from the hub w/o any issues. Got it home 9:30 am.

Gold tips look really nice contrasting with the darker tentacles. Let's see how he does. Not in the greatest shape, but satisfactory given the fact he was just overnighted.

Yeah it did, got some stringy discharge in the acclimation bucket also. Just transferred it to the QT, turning off the lights letting it acclimate.

Mouth is closed, but he is deflated currently. Other than waiting any other tips?
 
He jus t got there. Just wait and see how he is in AM. At least you started him on treatment right away.
 
Just checked this morning, mouth is looking better, tighter. Still tends to stay deflated, been giving him messages every few hours that perk it up a bit. Trying some more light, going to cycle it on/off using Reefaholics technique for stimulation. I did dose the QT with approximately 350 mg into 20g late yesterday evening. Not noticing anymore discharge. Going to continue the Cipro for now every evening at 250mg.

I do believe he was in good shape prior to be shipped from Blue Zoo. The care package they include is a nice touch. More water in the bag would have been nice, not sure if it would have helped. So far positive experience with them.
 
Looks like it's coming back. You probably want to remove the rock for a couple of reasons. 1) We don't know what the antibiotics are doing to the bacteria on and in the rock, 2) you want to be able to vacuum the tank of any detritus or waste that the nem produces and and empty tank makes this process easier. Off-topic. How is your crispa doing? I just picked up one that's not bleached and it seems like its' doing well. My clowns are loving it. Hasn't moved and is never deflated.
 
Quick update and got a question for you guys. The Nem is doing great started feeding small pieces of raw shrimp every few days. All is good. I've been doing 5g water changes with about 10-15g of total water in in a 40g breeder. My initial idea was to QT him for a few weeks before placing him in the DT.
If I fill up the 40g breeder with water, cycled sponge filter and some cycled live rock. How long can I go w/o a water change? 4 days reasonable?
