Hugo , my friend.. soo sorry to hear about your loss.... I really feel for you. I have had one or two devastations in my history and I know what it feels like...

You are welcome to any frags of any colonies that you gave me. Two of yours are ready to frag right now, a yellow one with rose tips, and a purple tipped tenuis. Sadly the purple staghorn started having probs when my alk was too high, but I saved a frag of that.

I am getting a battery powered air pump today! Anyone know who sells them? Fishing stores?

I forgot what site but I got a few of those that automatically turns on when powers go out for only $12.99 each. I'm sure someone will no the site. When I find the site I think I'll pickup a few more just in case.

im so sorry to hear that! man if i had sps i would totally help u out but i dont:( man ur tank was insperation man now what to i have to look forward to!?!>

Man ! This is sad, this tank was incredible ! :(

I'm in the progress on getting my 118g up and running...and power outages have always been a big concern for me, since day 1. Here in Québec (Canada) it's not that big of an issue, since this is where most of the electricity in our region and some parts of the states is generated. But, for sure I'm going to try and get some kind of generator in case it ever goes out, before even putting water into the tank.

I lost everything in my 70g tank 2 years ago, due to a fire caused by the neightbours. The heat and fumes killed everything in my tank...luckily my house insurances reimbursed almost everything, but I had to fight with them for a couple of months before they even agreed to give me something.

I hope to see another incredible tank from you soon Sniper !

This was happening as i was sending a pm to Hugo to buy some stuff... :(

Hugo, when you are ready... Micromussa, Acan, SPS, just pm me and they will be on there way down there overnight...

Your tanks pictures is what made me get into this hobby and i thank you for that and just facing such a disaster, rebuilding is extremely admirable.

Good luck Hugo!!!

As someone who lost an entire 280 gallon tank back in January I feel your pain. The only solace is I use my experience to teach others how to avoid my fate. Somehow that helped ease the pain. My tank is back online now and full of frags. Nothing like the 3-4 year collection I had but I am enjoying it again. You will too someday................

Hugo!
I'm sory to here the bad news. If you need some help, just call me.

SkinyChinaMan
How much did your 8000kw Generator cost you?

Thank's for the in site. I tried to call him, but he has his phone turned off. So I will just give him some time to grieve. Ill give Hugo a call in two days or so.
Man! I wish I could have helped him out.

Hugo..

I'm so sorry.Send me your address in a pm,I have certificate I won't be using anytime soon.I'd rather you have it.

I'm glad you're not giving up.Hang in there..poco a poco.
Gina

Ouch, sorry to hear about your loss hugo. You should put up a donation fund at your store or elsewhere. Since I have been out of the hobby for a bit and am unsure when I will start again I can donate some $ to help with your recovery if that would help.

Wow sorry to hear your loss. I thought your alk problem was bad...at least you dont' have to deal with the slow death now.

Maybe a few generators would be good, if not at home, at least for the store.

In future, you can get the tank as part of your home insurance package, but insurance replace $ not the other stuff that makes a tank great.

Hugo, your tank was so very awe inspiring. It's loss is certainly tragic.

I cannot imagine not having backup power available with even a fraction of your investment in time and money. I know i have mine. And a backup to the backup too.

Good luck and hang in there.

Sniper, so sorry to hear. I hope your near neighbors will find bits and frags they can spare for you. Been there, got the t-shirt. The only thing I can say is once the new incarnation does get set up, it's all future from there. May it be as beautiful as the last one.

Sorry to hear about such a catastrophe. I was bummed out when I lost a Neon Green Toadstool frag and a Green Ricordea, so I can't even imagine the emotions you are going through.

I got a few of these upon Raskal's recommendation and seeing it in his set up. I got mine off of eBay from a seller called "slippymadfrog." This may be the better way to go if you plan on buying several of them as they only charge an additional dollar for each additional item. I do not have any affiliation to the seller... Just passing on info in case Pet Solutions runs out of stock! I guess I'll be adding D cell batteries to the shopping list for Costco. Is it time to set-up a group buy on D cell batteries for those of us who can't afford to buy a generator?
