Onyx clownfish pair?.

It really depends on lineage and quality. I've seen very low quality Onyx from some of the large breeders that IMO wouldn't be worth buying even for $10. Extreme overbite and squared heads (think English bulldog) are the main deformities to look for.
You can get a pair of Onyx starting at $50, and going up into the $100s for a nicer pair with better coloration and markings.

I would inspect the fish closely for deformations. Too many commercial breeders only look for color and markings and hope the buyers will be too inexperienced to recognize the flaws.
If your plan is to breed with them I would try to get at a minimum one wild specimen to make a pair.

I got a pair of c-quest lineage clowns directly from a breeder. They were (and still are) very young. Some of their deformities are just starting to come to light a little bit but they aren't that bad. Typically a C-Quest clownfish will go for around $69-$125 each.
If you look up Rod's Onyx clownfish, the original pair (especially the female) was very deformed. Yet it produced some nice babies. A small underbite here and there isn't a big deal. However, as D-Nak mentioned extreme overbites and square heads should be avoided.

My Rod's Onyx pair produce nice babies, but once they started breeding the female changed shape as she "bulked up" and the male constantly has a banged up lip due to continuous cleaning.
I forgot to mention that I've also seen a lot of true percula clowns with a lot of black trying to be sold as Onyx. I define Onyx as having completely black sections between the white stripes. I'm not as critical of the dorsal, but some will only qualify an Onyx as having a solid black dorsal.
If you're not sure of the breeder or lineage, and the black hasn't grown in yet, it may be wise to wait because the black may not fill in -- then you will have paid for an Onyx but instead will have a true perc.
