Right now I have one of the 120w Chinese 50/50 led boxes over my 65g rr. And was thinking of going with a full spectrum 165w dimmable unit.

Has 90° optics but not sure if one would be good enough for a 65g deep tank or ifi would need 2?

Here is a Clip from the description.
------------------------------------
Dimmable 165W LED Aquarium Light with Lens for each led.
Dimmer One(28 LEDs): 8 x Cool White 12,000k, 6 x Neutral White 7500k, 6 x Warm White 3500k, 2 x Red 660nm, 2 x Green 520nm, 4 x Violet 420nm
Dimmer Two(27 LEDs): 7 x Royal Blue 450nm, 20 x Blue 460nm

90 degrees is alot of spread. If you want more spread, raise the light higher.

Your 120w has 120 degree spread if no optics are on it.

I think the best bang for the buck would be reef breeders. Not sure the dimensions of your tank but you could go with the 36" photon series and only have one unit.

Definitely out of my price range. Could almost get a used radion for that. $319 for smallest one.

Im thinking a pair of those ebbon my 75 or something similar. My 1 ai sol doesnt coverlike I need it to lol

Just stick to what you have. As long as your see growth and good coloration, I wouldn't cafe it.

Another LED company that I've purchased from are Ocean Revive, they are a vendor on here. Looking to get two more of their fixture soon.

seems unlike some they are actually running 3 watts on the leds vs 2 watts, or at least i cant see where it says they are.

I bought a pair of led lights on ebay - very similar to these in feb 2013. I have a 75g tank and previous to these leds, I had a 4 bulb t5ho light. within a month of buying these lights, all of my coral has grown like crazy. 3pcs in particular - a Hollywood stunner, stayed around a 2" diameter for 2 years - now it is a ball sized shape of about 8" with many layers. my frogspawn piece had 3 stalks for 2 years and the coral never really extended out too much - now it's so big that I can't tell how many stalks it has. Also, my rbta, from tecdiverfl, grew huge - more than 12" across and recently it has split twice, into 3 rbta's. all of my zoa's have taken off and spread into nice colonies. the only change that I made was to these lights, so I would highly recommend them. the other benefit is the look and colors of the coral under the blue led's. tank looks great now - I'm very happy with them...

Thanks for this info buddy. I am on the same boat as the OP. From what you are saying, this is probably the better buy for me too.

Johannes, I know that seller. After verifying the fixtures in person, I can tell you that he sells good bridgelux sets.

Thanks Siptang, I'm looking into LED's as well and was thinking of buying the reefbreeders value, but these are much cheaper, and always better to hear from someone who has seen the fixtures then chancing it on ebay. I'm still looking but these are definatly in the running.

no problem at all guys.

I deal with alot of these things so if you guys have any questions, feel free to ask.
