Is this new or has this been around a while? Just got a frag from ORA last week. Really a nice looking piece. Similar in size as to what the Yellow fuzzy comes from ORA looking like. Very rich purple with bright green polyps.

Not my pic..

Anyone have a frag or colony to show or is this new from there Marshall Island farming?

They have been out for a while now. Still one of the nicer ORA corals IMO. As mine has grown the tips have kept the deep purple while the body has lightened up a bit. Mine was also a favorite with acro eating flatworms. It healed up but never got the deep purple it once had.

I'm worried about this ones light requirements to keep the purple. My Garf bonsai does much better in low light. With this one coming from the Marshall Islands. Does it need to be blasted with light or keep it low to keep it nice and rich with color? Think I'll keep it lower to lower/mid in the tank with strong flow for quite a while and see what it does.

Low... your guide as far as color is correct in regards to placement.

Same with alot of Pinks, Reds, Blue and Purples.

I think that may be the same thing I got from ORA??????? I sure hope mine turns out like that. That is a sweet frag!!!!!!!!! My LFS had it for probably six months, so I don't remember what it looked like when they first got it.

You can see the green polyps in this pic.

I don't know if it's new or not but I know that it's some kind of awesome. I've just picked up a piece of GARF Bonsai that has that dark purple coloration. I simply love corals these corals. This stuff is so purple it would make Prince look twice.

I just picked one up that is a beautiful deep purple with bright green polyps and encrusted half way down the tip of the plug. Fantastic coral and glad ORA is releasing it again.

ORA Marshall Island is a wonderful change from the multiple similar "green with blue tips" ORA corals that have been around recently. I picked up a lovely ORA Marshall Island from my lfs on a white ORA plug and promptly rinsed most of the lovely purple away. Doh! Same thing happened to my garf bonsai, where much of the purple disappeared on entry to the tank but then the new growth has better coloration.

Acro Colony for sale

Acro Colony for sale

Selling this colony to help fund a tank upgrade. One side of it is a little bleached I think do to lack of flow. size is 5inx4in 60$

You didnt by any chance pick it up at age did you? I saw 3 frags of this but i procrastinated because i was looking for the garf bonsai. went back 2 days later and they were all gone. DAMMMM

garf bonsai, tri-color secale, ora purple green or any other purple w/bright green polyps acro. If you had to pick one which one would you choose and why?

I have bonsai, tricolor secale, another one called mega tricolor. And of the three I pick my tircolor secale hands down. I like the growth patern and the purple is nice and bright through out the whole colony. My bonsai lightens up towards the base.

I picked up a frag of this the other day, guy at the lfs didnt know the name, thought it was purple plasma but it looks identical to this. He was pretty clueless tho
