Osmolator stopped working properly - please help, going away in 2 weeks

Im now having an issue w my osmolator, much the same as other posts on here, where water drops below the sensor and the pump doesnt come on...it just started happeneing this week, thurs/fri. in fact it happened over night again. i looked at my sump and the level was down quite a bit below the sensor. i lowered the sensor into the water for a second, raised it, and the pump worked...
last night i soaked a paper towel in vinegar and cleaned the eye, followed by a rub w some alcohol on a paper towle, and then a rub w RO water on a towel...
does soaking the eye in vinegar really do more than rubbing it?
im very concenred because im going out of town a week from this coming thursday and i need this gear working...please advise

When the sensor is out of the water does the LED come on to show the pump should be running? How old is the unit?... possibly check the connection between the pump and controller. The leads need to be bright and clean, if not try stripping a bit of clean wire for each.

I soaked the sensor in vinegar all day yesterday. cleaned it off with RO and put it back. It seemed to work at first, but this morning was the same situation as I woke up to yesterday.
The return section of my sumpl had dropped past the sensor and the sensor was dry and the led was green. I dipped the sensor into the water and removed it and the pump came on. When I did this the yellow led did come on. I haven't checked the wire leads I can do that tonight. Any other ideas? The unit is less than a year old, but not by much, it's worked fine till now. I've had issues with locating the sensor and such but it always functioned perfectly, now there seems to be an issue w the sensor turning on as well as off.

My guess would be the sensor has a break in a wire or some sort of short, the only other possibility would be some sort of reflection or bubble accumulation right at the sensor. I will PM you.

I hate to be a pest, but I'm due to travel late next week and I need to get this ATO working, I dot have too much time if it's faulty...other than the leads, what else can I do to get it working properly, I'm concerned about my tank when I'm out of town...

Hi there,
I was having similar problems with mine and it turned out my dosing was forming a crust on the surface of the eye. I moved the dosing outlet over one compartment and the problem has been resolved.
