I had one in my backyard about 4 months ago investigating my chickens. Luckily I built their Coop/Run like we build our stands... Massivly overbuilt and very secure. He ran like the dickens when our big Dalmation mix came running out to investigate, never touched the ground, just ran along the top of the wall.

I got pretty close to a bobcat once at this animal sanitary in Tulsa, OK. It was fairly used to people. not wild like the one you saw in your backyard.

nice pics we had a baby mountain lion down street from us in yard couple weeks ago up by happy valley and lake pleasant then stupid cops shot and killed it. it was still a cub about 40lbs.

Wow! There's only one house/block fence from open desert here from our house here in Maricopa, after that is the Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway, which we call the McG ;-) Then the train tracks and open desert for miles and miles and miles. I don't think the cats run open desert, I know coyotes do, we hear them all the time. But I'm a little worried now that a cat came in your yard. We have a doggie door, and our two goldens go in and out at will. I've felt completely secure with a wall and a lock on our gate, now I'm freaking out a little. My dogs are on the bigger side, 75lbs and 90lbs, but jees, I trained all the mean out of them, they're therapy dogs... I think a mean domestic kitty could hurt them now. LOL (I hope). I know you live a long way from me, but I listen to the coyotes every night howling at the train and can hear when they catch "something" for dinner. I always knew a coyote would never climb a fence just to fight a dog 50lbs bigger, but a cat might.... good grief, I'm going to have nightmares.

I still think they are beautiful cats, I'm just thinking I live too close to an open desert. I hope rattlesnakes won't cross the tracks, the road, down the ditch and the only one house row before sliding under my fence. I doubt a cat would do that, but the nightmare I mentioned definitely involved snakes. OMG, and now it involves my doggie door. LOL I'm telling myself, there is a VERY low chance of that happening. But I can see open desert for 30 miles from my front door. (If I stand on the ladder). Call me Anxiety Girl, lol.
