Dan, finish paying and attending school before you invest in corals or just about anything else. Get rid of any debt you have, that should be your concern at this point...

What goes up must come down and vice versa...

We'll see what happens a year or so from now...

EXACTLY! Unless you have a reitrement plan that the company you work for is contributing money into, use your money to pay off debt. Getting out of debt is the first priority when thinking about investing.

you know times are tough when Al Davis won't pay his coaches. Sorry just said that to get a response from skifletch

ah, not to brag or anything, but i got an art scholarship to college (well paid for tuition) so there really isnt a mountain of debt to be paid. its getting a job thats a hard part after.

my question was.... "is it wise for ANYONE" to really be investing in corals? not just myself haha.

personally, if things are a lot worse in 10 years, im getting my citizenship back to S. korea. (just kidding but still... things dont look too bright... especially after whats happened)

Things are still ok Dan. The Market cycles like this. Maybe a 700 point drop is not so good. But a bit of a recession is good for inflation. I believe if things were truly bleak then, we would not see the market trying to rebound like it does every other day. Mistakes were made in the whole mortgage mess, now its time to pay. Its when people lose faith in the banks and start "putting they're money under the mattress" where things go screwy.

If we start demonizing unseen and unreal foes again, it will be clear that we haven't learned a single Fing thing since March 2003. I hope against hope that we have learned at least that much.

What I find interesting behind this whole discussion is that there is little concern for the reality of this debt mess; because some stockholders and CEO's wanted to make a quick buck. And those of us who didn't take out shady loan and are not up to our eyeballs in debt, will ultimately get screwed by this. Sigh
:D Hi Mike.

I agree with your comment about the debt mess and greed. I don't really think Dan should invest in corals ,I was just carrying on Steve's lighthearted line. As for demons , my intent was merely to clarify the difference between demonizing partisanship and real demons that threaten us . So suffice to say even though it's not popular,I disagree with your comment about March of 2003 ,wholeheartedly.

 Sucks to be the guy getting thrown under the bus huh? My real oppinion is that Al needs to look in the mirror.

And Tom, I suppose that is one of the great strenghts of this country, that we can disagree and discuss such ideas. At the risk of going down a road that will surely get administrative action involved, let me just say that my views on the March matter are in fact not typical or popular from either of the 2 "mainstream" sides of the issue. Probably why I've been disapointed every fourth year I've been alive, regardless of the outcome, cause nobody else seems to think like me. Such is life :)

We should discuss that some time but not here.Rules are rules.
How tough would it have been if the Raider's had won that game agaisnt the Bills . Oh my.

stop it.
:D What AFC east teams are on your schedule ? I'll be a fan for those games. Probably for the first time since Madden and Jake the Snake. BTW, I think your QB can be great in a little while.

we have jets and pats I believe. Oakland isn't that far off believe it or not. They have taken leads with everyone but Denver into the 4th. Just have to finish. Jamarcus will be good eventually, but the o-line is really suspect right now.

San Diego too, in Buffalo after the Buffalo bye. Can't wait for that one.
