Too riced out for my tastes... Id rather have a stock bodied Evo... That wing is too much, the color is okay but the graphics gotta go... How do you own an Evo with a vortex generator either ?!?!?

The Eclipse in that movie was the absolute worst though.

Look real close in the first pic you'll see the Eclipse.

Thanks, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.... :lmao:

Did anybody with a pulse REALLY think that Eclipse looked good ?!?!?

Anywaaays, Yes the new evo is WICKED.

I love my 09 GTS because its platform is so similar. Only a beautiful drivetrain away from such a great car.

this topic went way off focus, amazing how it was only one line and a poll with two options talking about stink stangs, and ugly eclipses. :P

i wouldnt talk mister ugly nose lancer :p
I like that new lancer but they have to shorten than nose it looks ugly from the side. I would rather have an evo VI over any other evo, even the new one. Same way i would rather have an R34 skyline over the new one.

I run a GT42R at 42psi with a 50shot for spoolup.I drive it around every now and again.Mostly a track car,but still has plates and ins. Here's a sneak peek at it,pic is from last year.

badgus, whats your quarter mile time? i say your statement about fast cars on this site is very bold. I also think that a street car should be able to run 93 octane gas, pretty sure 40+ lbs of boost and 93 octane dont get along.

i just Sh*& my self watching the terminator videos on youtube...can you still find those in the dealerships?

The termintors are 5/6 years old, youre not going to find a new one, and if you find one with super low miles youre going to pay out the nose for it.

Im sure the talon is a 10 second car, but at 42 pounds of boost and race fuel it better be. :D

Arent you worried about something happening to your intercooler with nothing even remotely guarding it ???

Maybe im just paranoid.....

This ones got some good ownage of an Evo....

Actually that was a 9.95@143.xx mph pass,That was w/o nitrous at 36PSI boost. It runs a bit quicker now.Wasn't going for reaction, the time doesn't start till your car moves anyway. That was July of 07 i beleive.Since then, the suspension is well dialed in.

Being an owner of an '05 Evo MR, I must say that the car has been great and Mitsubishi has been good to deal with so far. For those not familiar with the MR, they made 1,000 of them in 05 and i'm not sure how many in 06. It's a 6-speed transmission, Bilstein suspension, bigger turbo nozzle, more boost, more HP/Torque, titanium shift knob, etc... sweet Evo. :)

I'm actually a huge STI fan but went with the Evo because I found it more fun to drive overall. The 05 STI had more creature comforts and felt a bit stronger in the straight on launch, but the Evo ruled in the corners. Stepping up to the MR got me the stronger launch power and kept all of the fun in the corners. Driving my MR is like driving the fastest Go-Kart in the world. Very fast and glued to the road! So much fun to drive.... definitely not a 1/4 mile machine from the factory though. If you're in it to run 1/4's, there are definitely better choices out there.

Now that i'm doing telling you how much I love the 05 Evo VIII MR and the 06 Evo IX MR, let me tell you how much I really dislike the Evo X MR. To me, it defeats the point of the car. I feel the same way about the new STI as well. Oh sure, power numbers are close and they definitely still launch impressively, but I just don't care for the styling and the "super sedan" thing. The Evo/STI of old are both Sedans, but they're far from the "family car that has power". My Evo rides like a cement mixing truck, but I love that about it. The Recaro bucket seats in my car hold me in like glue, but you won't be taking a nap in them... once again, I love that. The new Evo is definitely more refined... and I honestly don't care for it. Maybe i'm just biased because I own an VIII, but I test drove an X and decided to keep my VIII MR and maybe look for an IX MR (which to me was the ultimate Evo)

Also, if you're looking to boost power significantly, don't go with the Evo X MR, the TC-SST transmission is a neat concept but it has been said over and over that it will not handle the kind of power people are putting into the VIII/IX Evos now. That limits your choices and you'll be stuck back with the 5-speed. Not that I don't like the 5-speed Evo, but once you drive the 6-speed VIII/IX, you'll be sold... The ride is a lot better as well thanks to all that Bilstein. :) I'm really not amused by the TC-SST in the Evo X MR, but supposedly people are getting better track times than every before with them... too bad I LIKE to shift and paddles just don't do it for me. Also, if you pull up next to an VIII/IX in your Evo X... watch out, the older ones are a bit faster off the line. :(

Just my 0.02. If I had to choose one, i'd choose Evo again because it's been a great car and it's still every bit as enjoyable to drive 3 years after purchase. That's saying something.

Seeing as we're sharing pictures... here are some of my Evo.

FINALLY he makes it to the thread. :D Maybe it took him awhile to write that novel. :D

I gotta admit it was fun to drive my buddys Evo.... I agree with everything that Ekrunch wrote.... They are definitely a blast to drive...

Id still rather have a RWD car though. :D

Too bad you were out of town when I had my buddys car Ed, I wanted to bring it by and get a few pictures next to your MR...

I've totally been slacking on my RC duties here lately. I've actually had to work! *gasp*

RWD is good... until you have to turn fast or it snows, but that's a debate for another day. :D
