You've mentioned this a few times, but you forget about the non call on the goaltending earlier in the game by dwight on gasol. He "blocked" the shot/dunk by putting his hand through the hoop and swatting the ball from there which was clearly goaltending, but there was no call. But as you mentioned, its all irrelavent now.

Its a little different when its the last play of the game. There are BS calls all game long, these refs are HORRIBLE. I typically dont complain about the calls too much. Just when it is a play that clearly costs a game, I will complain. If it was the other way around, Im sure you guys would be saying the same thing.

Air France wont be suspended. Stupid, bonehead move, yes. But hes a good guy, and a generally clean player. He let his emotions get the best of him, and shouldn't have done it. Had Gasol not been a punk and tried to dunk the ball when he just had to run out the 3 seconds, this wouldn't be an issue. Id like to punch him in his big nose.

I do agree with Jflip... Pau should have passed that ball out. I realize its the championship and a ton is on the line, but the game was over and the dunk wasn't necessary.

Flagrant foul nonetheless.

GO LAKERS!

Has anyone said anything about Jeff Van Gundy and his completely Orlando biased commentating? He was making me sick last night. He went on and on and on and on and on about Dwight Howard. What do you know, with all of those rebounds and block shots, he can't make even one of two free throws when they counted.

Turk and Dwight definitely lost Orlando the Championship last night.

Sorry, I disagree. No dribbling out, you never know what's going to happen in a crazy game like that. With a couple of seconds they might come and take the ball, then the 2 points might be a factor. This is for all the marbles, show no mercy, score the 2 points to close the door. That's not playing dirty, that's legal part of the game, the flagrant isn't. I agree Pietrus isn't a dirty player, but it was a dirty play.

It's what I expected. asking him to be unbiased would be like asking Joe Morgan not to talk about Bonds on Sunday Night Baseball.

I can't see how the league isn't taking any action on the play. Is it ok?

If the game was already over why was Pietrus even in the position to deliver that foul?

I think if Gasol fell hard on the ground after the hit, there would have been a suspension. Stupid, but it seems like that is how they rule these fouls.

I completely agree. The game was still in the balance since the Lakers weren't up by 20 and this is for a ring. Pau did what he was suppose to do and Pietrus may not be a dirty player, but that was a cowards foul. Two arms with close fists in the back constitutes a punch(s), not the manliest punch but a punch nonetheless. He should have been suspended, end of story.

As for the never ending cries about the alleged goaltend on Lee's shot..AGAIN, the rule states the ball has to be on the rim or close to going in and the rim disturbed as to cause it to bounce in an unnatural way. I had a better chance of getting that ball close to going in from my living room couch than that shot by Lee
And Joe, you say that it's different in the beginning of a game as opposed to the end, how so? Should calls be made differently? Are the rules not the same during the entirety of a game? A goaltend is a goaltend, no matter if at the beginning or the end and the fact of the matter is that Dwight Howard put his hands THROUGH the net to get the ball out as it was going in. Obvious call that wasn't made. NOW CAN WE JUST MOVE ON TO THE PARADE PART ON FIGUEROA?

I'm a laker fan and I don't think Pietrus should be suspended. Maybe a fine or something but not a suspension. Orlando's already down, no need to kick them.

Had Gasol fallen on his head or something then yes, suspend the crap out of him. Gasol's fine. Lets get on with the series.

And no more complaing about calls and none calls. There's been shitty calls on both sides. It's part of the game. In the end, the better team wins.

So the rules don't apply if Orlando was "down" or losing? I don't understand why people are being soft on Orlando, poor them? The clock was still running when he committed what I consider a flagrant foul, if the rules say it's a suspension then he should be suspended. Doesn't matter if they were "down" or not.

Gasol didn't fall on his head. But he could have. That's like saying if I hit you with my car and you don't die. It's ok, let's get on with the "series"? lol

+1!!

Orlando put themselves in the position they are in. Why should anyone feel bad for them? They do what they do...and right now what they're doing is not winning the games (except 1). End of story. Oh and I wouldn't consider that "elbow" from Kobe remotely comparable to what Pietrus did to Gasol. Poor sportmanship is all it was. Doesn't matter if he has always played civil in past games, that act he did was not called for. Period. Whether Gasol should have passed the ball or whatever other play people think he should have done,is irrelevant. That's just my 2 cents.

Lakers own this series. :)

I don't know if anyone else saw the news last night about the mayhem down in East LA after the Lakers won last night. People were out in the streets acting stupid and going up to cars and shaking them and just acting so ridiculous in the middle of the streets for no reason. Yes it was a good win but not the championship game. I only hope people don't do sh!t like that on the next game cuz it's more embarrassing to see then anything especially being a Laker fan myself. I know people were excited but that was way too extreme. For a minute when I first saw it on the news I thought there was a riot going on but then they said it was just Laker fans acting a fool. Not cool. That's not the way to celebrate a win IMO.

Let's not celebrate a win like we are a pack of hungry grizzly bears who sees a car full of food and start shaking it up to ttry to get in it!!! Who does that??? LOL!!!!

i have to apologize for that horrible behavior from my "peeps" that everyone witnessed last night on tv :o
but seriously, yeah i agree those morons acting like maniacs are just looking for trouble. too bad, it's just getting started since it's inevitable that the lakers will win and all hell will break loose.

on another note, anyone going to the parade, make sure you DON'T park anywhere near staples center. I was there for the last 3 parades and there were so many people that some geniuses started getting the idea that to see the players better, it would be a good idea to stand on the roofs of cars and sure enough soon after, approximately 20-30 cars had caved in roofs once the players and coaches were done speaking. I feel sorry for the owners of those cars, but didn't stick around long enough to see the expression on their faces.

I saw the replay of Pietrus hitting Pau in the back from another angle. He kind of reminds me of a girl hitting somebody..

Sorry If this offends any of you ladys out there...or guys who feel that its ok to hit in the back if your losing bad.

Honestly, I didn't have an issue with that. It seemed to be in good fun, and they were not causing any damage.

Flipping cars is different all together and those who do that should be liable for damages.
