Ot: Lakers vs Magic

Orlando wont shoot 30% from the field again, that was a terrible night. Normally they say live by the 3 and die by the 3.... but they died on EVERY shot. It was a poor effort all around. I doubt Kobe can keep up that show he put on. If he does, well then the man deserves the ring. I can be a gracious loser if he keeps putting up games like tonight.

Kobe is going to keep on burning the Magics all series if they don't start doubling him. No team can guard Kobe 1 on 1 and not expect for him to get 30 plus. I personally thought it was going to be Lakers in 6 but after tonight it's looking more like 5.

That was a great game to have the surround sound turned on real loud if you like the sound of bricks hitting.

thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud....

what a victory. what a message.
maybe one stat the magic will have a hard time forgetting- phil jackson's teams never lost a series when they win game 1...
rashard is going to keep getting eaten up by pau. that'll be there for him everytime he wants it. when howard or gortat is on him, all he needs to do is step back and pull up. they're going to need a whole new defensive plan for how they play the spaniard.

courtney lee is going to get posted up a whole lot. he looks like he'll develop into a pretty good player but not in this series. and i love the picks we're setting on pietrus. he looked like a second rate defender last night. i can see kobe averaging 33-34 against this team if every game is competitive. last night will not be his best finals performance- that's my prediction.
bynum looked awesome defensively. he racked up the fouls kinda quickly, but he was in there long enough to disrupt the hell out of howard. i also loved the 2x-3x teams on him too. i bet he's having nightmares about those.
overall, my favorite moment from last night had to be that 3 by ariza (his only basket). it felt like that shot was the beginning of the end for the magic. for the game AND the series :) sorry jflip

My favorite was the Magic shot from the corner that was about 4' long. Might have went in from Jack's seat though. Maybe it was meant to be a pass over the rim?

This is great experience for the Magic, but they just aren't ready yet. It's not their time. So who's going to the parade? I know I am.

Calm down Laker fans... Its only game one. Im impressed with how well Nelson performed last night. Hopefully he can get some chemistry going with the rest of the teammates, and really put the hurt on the Lakers in game 2.

Had it happened in the reverse you'd be barking that it was all over and rubbing salt mix into our wounds.

I agree with GTR. Besides there wasn't even one glimpse of hope in that game for Orlando. Some may say the Lakers only did what they were suppose to do, which is hold home court, but by 25 points? :eek2:
The Lakers beat Orlando like they stole something

It's true! It's only game one. But like Kobe said, forget about the game last night. Let do it again, Lakers!!! :D

yup it is only game one but it sure did send a message out to all the the magic fans out there!!! The problem magic did was put nelson in the game the whole second quarter.... they didnt need him to get here and messed up the whole chemistry and upset Rafer while doing this... this wasnt a regular season game and i think it was a mistake to bring him back not 100%!!!

LAKERS IN 5!! im getiing 4/1and i hope it ends right there!!
either way i knew the lakers would RUN over the magic!!:D

game one spoke volumes about the lakers readiness for the finals. especially the 3rd quarter when they broke it open, then punctuated by the "there will be no comeback" attitude in the 4th... that was a statement game. i could see us playing even better in game 2.
the magic have a sick team, but they have that deer-in-the-headlights look about them. i think they think they already won something- that works in our favor. they'll come out looking stronger in game 2, but expect the lakers to at least match their intensity.
forgot to give luke walton his due- that's 2 games in a row that he contributed big. he looks like he does a decent job of getting turk out of his comfort zone. very timely appearance from him, seeing how sasha is barely a blip on the radar
one last thing though- dwight howard swung his elbows on at least 2 occasions last night and i hope he connects with one next game... i can smell a suspension

D12 with a mind numbing one field goal? WOW

oh well...

sorry JFlip

You may be impressed with Nelson but should be worried about Dwight having only 1 basket. The lakers look like they really found their intensity and heart. You predicted Orlando in 5 (not gonna happen) I am gonna predict Lakers in 4. Let's break out the brooms lakers fans!!

I sure would, because I didnt expect Orlando to win game 1. I figured the Lakers would come out hot (which they didnt), they just killed us ALL game long (except the first quarter). Orlando takes games 2, 3, 5, and 6.

superman my a$$ he sucks hell 7 foot he should be able to dunk on a 12 foot rim i dont want either team to win lebron is the best in the game so what if he didnt shake hands he was ****ed at his on team mates and bryant he will win his first one with out oneil because of his team switch him with lebron and he would be sitting at home to
