Ot: Lakers vs Magic

Mike take it easy on the guy. I at least give him kudos for showing face on the thread. He also gave props to pau. The series is far from over but I am glad my team is up two as oppose to being down 2. I think van gundy made a good decision in not playing alston or jameer In the end. Alston is shooting worse then fisher was. Tuesday is do or die for the magic. Lakers by 12 Kobe goes for 45. Alston throws a towel at van gundy, and lakers sweep on Thursday. See you guys at the parade. Go lakers!!!!

Just giving Joe a hard time bro. Trust me, if the Lakers were down 2-0 or tied 1-1 we'd be getting it a lot worse from Joe because we're favored to win. I hope Joe knows I'm just giving him a hard time. Nothing malicious meant.

....Orlando takes games 2, 3, 5, and 6.

Well that knocks off game 2 for them....3 is next but i think you forgot game 4 in your prediction hahahaha!! Orlando is putting up a fight but a Lakers sweep is not too far fetched...i'm just sayin ;)They might bag a game or two but the Lakers own this series....just jump on the Lakers bandwagon already and get it over with..there's room for you :)

BTW...No need to scroll through the entire thread to see if I posted anything that's considered worthwhile to you.Sorry not everyone is gonna post game/player stats. People like me just like rubbing it in your face about this series that's all! hahahahaha!!! It's all in fun calm down... it's just an OT thread in a reef forum ;)

hmmm.....watching another winning game by the Lakers AND then going to Tom's after to get a fish?!...maybe a royal gamma would be an appropriate fish to get since it's yellow and purple....that's mighty tempting lol ;)

Put Kobe in Cleveland Crabeliers and they win their first title. Put LeCry in LA and we're lottery bound.

I think you have this backwards. :p

Lebron simply does not have a supporting cast like Kobe does. Besides Kobe, the Lakers have another all star in Gasol, and borderline all star Odom and many other role players like Bynum, Ariza, Fisher, Farmer, etc.

After James, the talent level really drops off considerably for Cleveland. Granted Mo Williams was an all star this year, but he wasn't deemed worthy enough by the coaches and only got a spot due to injuries.

Cleveland as a team reminds me of the Lakers before Gasol came onboard. James carries the load but he doesn't have a legitimate partner/# 2 guy to go to if he's doubled/tripled.

Back on topic: Orlando wins game 3, Lakers take series in 6.

I agree. Lebron doesn't have any good players around him and what they were able to achieve this year has been incredible. However, I'm tired of the Lebron is better than Kobe talk. If you go on stats, then yes. But if we're talking about individual stuff (like outside shot, clutch player, free throw shooting, and desire to win), then give me Kobe all the way. No doubt Lebron will be the best player in a few years, but until he has a title to his name... there's no contest who's the best in the league.

There was a poll for the GM's in the league that asked who they'd want to take the last shot of the game and 85% of them picked Kobe. The other 15% were split evenly over Lebron, Billups, and Ray Ray. Another poll asked the players around the league who they regarded as the best player, 90% picked Kobe. And these are people who are in the business, looking at talent, and playing against both Kobe & Lebron.

Im changing my original perdiction of the Lakers in 6, to the Lakers in 5 :D

It just sucks were gonna win it in Orlando, not on the home floor in LA.

When's the Parade !>!>!>!>!>!>!> :)

When Orlando was playing Cleveland, you saw Lebron do his thing, but it never got me too worried as a Magic fan. It was always a run when it didnt matter much, or you knew he wouldnt totally take advantage (except game 5). Playing the Lakers, its clear who the best player in the league is. Any time Kobe hits a shot, I think in my head "God, dont let him go on a quick 10-0 run".

People just like to have players to compare, and like to have the debate as far as who the best player is. Its the same reason MJ didnt win the MVP EVERY year he was playing, because we all know he was the most valuably player on any team. People like having that debate, or like picking someone else to be on top. Another thing is Lebron is a real likable guy, and Kobe is a DB who gives himself his own nicknames.

I agree that Lebron has a better image then Kobe. However Kobe has worked hard to get is image back. I think he has the no. 1 selling jersey out there still.

Kobe can call himself whatever he likes in my book...black mamba...sugar muffin....show stopper....sexy man beast...whatever he's tagged himself is alright with me :) lol! No but seriously, I think Kobe,Lebron, and all the other "shining stars" in this league all have individual talents and qualities that make each of them unique in their own right. But Kobe and Lebron are just a little more shinier than the rest if them. Just my biased opinion once again lol, but Kobe is the best overall player in the world!!!

But come on... Naming yourself the Black Mamba, and then always putting your lower jaw out? He's just not a likable guy, unless youre a Lakers fan. But I guess that doesnt matter, since its not a popularity contest.
