Ot: Lakers vs Magic

Personally I'm not sure Orlando will win another game. Lakers are out for blood and taking no prisoners.

Agreed

The odds of Orlando winning the series are not good, I can see that. But I think they at least get 1 game. Theres gotta be a performance in DH12, like he had in game 6 Vs. Cleveland.

If LA loses in Orlando 1 game, theyd win the championship at home since its 2-3-2 (I really dislike that format, I have even when Orlando wasnt in the Finals). If the roles were reversed, Id rather have Orlando sweep and finish the series in Los Angeles, rather than win it at home in 6. JMO as a fan.

Orlando seems to have the stud center, then a whole lot of GOOD players. We need that scorer that can just go on a run. Ben Gordon is a free agent this year, thatd be great if he comes over since Hedo is probably leaving. Maybe signing a Ben Gordon, and a bigger #4, since Lewis isnt a true #4. It seems like we are having the same problem with LA, that Cleveland had with us... we're not big enough. Id love to have a line up consisting of Howard, Rasheed Wallace, Rashard Lewis, Ben Gordon, Jameer Nelson (Pietrus, Lee, Alston off the bench). Wishful thinking, I know.

I'm still hopeful Orlando can pull off the upset, though =)

I'm not so sure about that. If Orlando can take the lakers into OT on the lakers home court, then they can certainly squeak one out on their own turf.

He will never have the same performace like in game 6 because we play WAY better D on him. The only way Orlando can win is by shuting down Gas and having turk and rashad score 25 +. Which will never happen . PAU is NASTY

+1 the lakers are going to play alot better tonight then in game 2. I predict Kobe scoring 35+ with 10 assists tonight.

If Lamar & Fisher have a good game tonight the Lakers will only be 1 win away from Glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Joe, you just said the same thing that many people are saying, which has me confused. You're saying that LA has to lose only one game at Orlando to wrap up the series in Los Angeles, but how is that possible? If they only lose one game, that would mean they would win the other two at Orlando and 2 + 2 = Championship on Orlando's court. So they actually would have to lose 2 at Orlando to win it here in LA...maybe I'm just not understanding what people mean by saying they have to lose only one game at Orlando out of the next 3 to win the trophy at home..

i don't think the lakers played well on sunday... as bad as orlando played, it should've been a blowout.
it didn't even seem like a playoff game until the 4th quarter. i'd like to see a hungrier laker team tonight. let's get out in front quickly, step on their necks so they can't get back up and take their heart! go lakers! let the streets of orlando run crimson w/ the magic's blood :)

i will be the first to say... I WAS SO WRONG ABOUT LAMAR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR, when i said trade him for shawn marion. i highly doubt there's even 2 players in the league that can do what you did for us this season. he has truly found himself a niche on this team. proven his mettle and he belongs in l.a. if i ever meet him, i'm buying him a lifetime supply of sour peachy rings.
i truly hope ariza decides to stay w/ us for the MLE. i think he knows he belongs here.
the only thorns in our cap space are sasha vujacic and adam morrison... haha, they need to take a long walk off a short pier

I don't know if you watched all the post game interviews, but I don't think Orlando has any kind of answers for the Lakers. The Magic can try to out hustle the Lakers (tall order at this stage), but they have no idea how to play the game against them effectively, the Lakers have extremely high basketball IQ (Something Lebron and his team has to learn over time, and their management has to put the right players together, but that's a diff subject). Worse thing is, the Lakers are gaining confidence and playing better, because they know the opponent better over time, that is the trend as of now.

The Lakers don't care where they win the Championship, here or Orlando. The trophy and the rings don't have a stamp on it that says "I won the last game on the opponent's home court, woohoo!". And it's stupid to say, "I'll lose a couple of games so I can come back and win game 6 for the championship". You never know what is going to happen from game to game, if you throw some away, you may never win another game and therefore lose the championship. To cap this off, remember, the Lakers suffered a very heartfelt loss last year in the finals, they are not going to let it happen again, especially with a team like Orlando Magic. Like I said earlier, they are out for blood, showing no mercy.

Hey Joe, I disagree about your "stud" center, you can have all the "studs" you want, without a good management, team strategy, team chemistry, high basketball IQ from top to bottom, you still may never win the championship. Laker's have learned this hard lesson over the years when they had Shaq, remember the year when there were 5 hall of famers on the team? Kobe, Shaq, Malone, Payton, Horry (is he a hall of famer?). They had all the talent, and still couldn't get it done. It's a fallacy to think, "if i just get this player and that player on the team, we can win the championship!", if it were only that easy. This is one reason I dislike the Celtics, and Yankies for that matter, lol.

Youre right... Thats called common math, and I failed miserably, lol.

i would call it basic math... but i do agree with you that i dislike the 2-3-2 format, especially since the entire playoffs have been 2-2-1-1-1 until the finals

For once, i wasn't trying to be a smart a$$..lol.. I really was just trying to understand why so many people say they know it's 2-3-2 format and yet keep saying that they only have to lose one over there to win it here at home.
I guess there are lots of Laker fans that failed basic math miserably as well, like the ones being interviewed after game two outside staples center.

lol... maybe it doesn't mean anything when i say it (with my recent spats on rc), but "COME ON GUYS, CHILL OUT!"

blinding reef, you should watch idiocracy. it might be right up your alley. the smart people are going extinct and the, uh, rest... are taking over
jflip... i kinda admire you (kinda) for sticking to your guns. you're like the guy w/ the yankee hat in a bar in boston. :) but truth be told, your team is going down in flames

I will take the suggestion Mike and check it out this weekend. Btw, off topic but you weren't kidding when you said that Lyretail male anthias was a little punk...it wasn't even two weeks before it had to find a new home. lol. The way it punked the other fish reminded me, ...well, the Lakers beating down on the Magic. lmao..and with that jab, i guess we're back on topic..lol

That is too funny. When Kobe got blocked and the crowd went berzerk, I thought to myself "that's a bad idea to get Kobe upset" and sure enough, he hit a 4 pointer
