You guys have got me. I've been following this thread since the beginning, and my mouth has been watering the whole freakin' time.
Birthday is coming up soon, and I already told the wife to start looking at smokers, as I must have one. By mid May, I should have some smoked meat to brag about here ;)

Alright Larry. Welcome to another obsession. My grill has been hot all weekend and today is no exception. Mikey and I have been talking about meats all morning and his smoker has been rolling since the wee hours.

I know that this will be a challenge for me, I'm not the most patient person. How I wound up reefing is tough to understand knowing that I don't like to wait. I do really enjoy good BBQ. There are a few places here on LI that do a good job, but being able to say that I did it is what I'm craving now.
Sun is shining, temps are slowly rising, the time is upon us ;)

Amen.
Howdy and good morning Larry.

What kind of smoker are you looking to get into Larry? For some reason I see a set it and forget it in your future!!

Pellet smoker for the win! So easy and true wood fired flavor. Nothing comes close IMO. Traeger is a good one but recommend looking around at the forums. Yes just one more website to visit each day hahahahahaahaha.

Traeger is nice, been around for some time and that's what I have currently. Produced a lot of good Q off of it, few guys here can attest to that. Unfortunately I should have held out for the Yoder YS640. Double the price but it's built like a tank! And more cooking area too!

I had not even looked, but I know I want wood fired (pellets are an option), for the flavor. No electric or charcoal. I didn't know I was looking at a thousand dollars just to get started :(

Oh, and that johnike character, I think he's following me :worried:
