OT - RC Airplanes

Sure did, Bill! And thats exactly what its like! :)

But, I crashed it on Saturday just after getting it back... Nothing too major, though. Just needs a little 30 minute epoxy and it'll be set to fly again.

Picked up a copy of Phoenix Flight sim. Mike, you up for some online Pylon racing? (not sure if that's an option but would be fun if it is)

I'm slowly but surely working on getting away from my field box.

Picked these up tonight:

These will be mounted to my starter. :) I thought about going lipo, but there's just no reason to. I can get a cheap trickle charger and hook these up to it and not worry about it. I also have an extra transmitter pack that I'm going to use for my fuel pump. I can officially get rid of my field box battery now. :D

Now I've got to figure out a way to mount that other battery pack and my fuel pump to my fuel bottle. Any ideas? :)

Man... I'm getting closer and closer to needing a couple of multi-chargers. :D

I'm thinking one of those quad chargers...

Sure Zach, in a little bit. I am about to eat right now. When is good for you?

Didn't see this until today, sorry. I don't see pylon racing as an option, kind of weird. Just balloon pops, spot landings, etc. Some of which are harder than it looks with a plane :hmm3: Overall it's a pretty good sim, but the view can be disorienting at times. I like the training modes, I think it will definitely help learning how to torque roll / hover, etc which is mainly why I got it.

The menus look quite a bit different. Not sure if I like it better or worse. Some of the helis seem to fly a bit differently. I will start a multiplayer session called rcmike if you want to fly online.

Interesting. I am undecided whether I like it or not. Some of the planes which are supposedly "hard to fly" simply fly and land too easily I think. The Extra for example lands much harder in Clearview, you have to bring it in hot where in Phoenix it just floats in no problem. Landscape seems to be unpredictable, for example, if you run over some areas that look like very slightly taller grass, instead of just nosing over the model flies apart like you crashed.

Anyone flying this weekend? I think I may go tomorrow since my wife is going to a wedding. Got another telemetry module for my 600N. Will be interesting to see the engine temperature in real time.

Since our company is headed to a conference next week, I'll be spending my weekend with my wife. :)

However, I did glue my plane back together last night and picked up an Imax B6 charger to use as a general, inexpensive charger. :)

Well, I should clarify... by "picked up", I mean "ordered on eBay from Hong Kong because its half the price of Hobby Lobby". :D

I plan on flying at Smyrna on Saturday. I might fly in Columbia Sunday, but since we need to get some final prep done for the conference Brandon mentioned, it won't be the entire day :)
