OT: Still Need A/C help

Well my A/C air handler or cooling coil (whatever you call it) froze yesterday. Running the fan for awhile with the A/C itself shut off thawed it out.

I have someone coming tomorrow to look, but depending on what they say is the issue, I might be very interested in throwing my business to someone else if this guy seems ridiculously expensive.

Anyone know a good A/C guy?

Howie

Before Greg and I became good friends, this is the company my family used for years. His name is Terry Roberts and his son works with him. His bids were always more than fair:

Arch Heating & Air Conditioning

St Louis, MO 63123

Freezing up is usually caused by the following things: Not enough air flow over the evaporator coil or low refrigerent.
Low air flow can be from dirty filter, bad/slow blower motor, etc.
Low refrigerent indicates a leak. Could be real slow one like I have. I usually need some refrigerent every two years. Then I call my best friend. He owns West County Heating and Cooling. He runs an honest business and is close to you. Contact him if you think something is fishy with the company looking at it tomorrow.

Changed filters Dave! I hope that the filter being a bit dirty for awhile did not create some other issue, but I am hoping it just needs a recharge.

Seems to be good airflow....
